Your favorite virtual boy band is back: Riot Games has confirmed a HEARTSTEEL comeback. Let’s recap the full timeline, including leaked skins and concept art.
The HEARTSTEEL comeback story actually begins with another Riot Games group. The League of Legends community first started seeing leaks about K/DA’s comeback in early July 2026, stemming from reputable sources like @LeagueOfLeaks. Soon, this progressed from pure speculation to a likely possibility. Fans found a legal filing for a new K/DA song titled ‘Watch Me,’ and leaked images began emerging showing potential lightstick and skin designs.
Since K/DA and Heartsteel are so interconnected, K/DA’s sudden reappearance sparked questions about whether HEARTSTEEL would follow. Additional leak accounts claim True Damage is also returning… but there’s no news on Pentakill yet (sorry, metalheads!).
HEARTSTEEL’s first release, Paranoia (featuring BAEKHYUN, tobi lou, ØZI, and Cal Scruby), went viral. The video secured over 73 million views, securing the group a large fanbase immediately.
On September 7, images emerged that claimed to be new leaked HEARTSTEEL skins. It’s also possible these are just models for an upcoming MV, but if the past is any indication, HEARTSTEEL’s new skins would still take inspiration from their music video outfits.
The images spread quickly on Reddit, Discord, X.com, and other platforms. We see the six core HEARTSTEEL members: Ezreal, Kayn, Sett, K’Sante, Yone, and Aphelios.

The HEARTSTEEL concept art leaker claimed that HEARTSTEEL was releasing a new music video in 2026. They allegedly had access to HEARTSTEEL’s full upcoming song audio and MV. However, these have not yet become public.
On September 8, 2026, Riot Games confirmed that League of Legends’ 2026 Season 3 Act 2 would have a music theme. This small but significant tidbit of info added fuel to the fire, since it supported a comeback arc for the studio’s virtual bands. It was part of a dev update, which also revealed the upcoming League Team Voice feature and some big League Classic updates.
Just a day later, League of Legends’ official X.com account all but confirmed HEARTSTEEL’s comeback as well with a teaser video. The post, which went viral, has HEARTSTEEL chatting on voicemail. The team members seem to be getting ready for something big: they’re dying their hair in a rush and picking up laundry. They tell Kayn “you’d best be on your way,” and the group’s manager says “you should’ve been awake and ready an hour ago!”
Riot Games hasn’t officially confirmed a release date for the HEARTSTEEL comeback yet, but leaks are pointing to Season 3 Act 2 of 2026 as the likely window. The update should launch on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. It arrives with Patch 26.20.
Recent reports suggest the group’s return could arrive alongside K/DA’s comeback. Since Worlds 2026 kicks off on October 15 and Act 1 wraps up on October 7, many fans expect the reveal to land sometime around that stretch. Riot Games always likes to release a theme song for each Worlds tournament. Could HEARTSTEEL or K/DA be this year’s main act?
@LeagueOfLeaks supported the October 7 theory, also stating that “it looks like HEARTSTEEL will be the first music group to make a comeback, with True Damage and K/DA coming later!”
