DJ Sona Ultimate Remix: Riot Puts an Ultimate Skin Behind a 40-Pull Gacha
The 2015 original cost 3,250 RP. The remix has no price at all, only a ceiling of 16,000 RP, and Riot’s published odds mean most players who want her will hit it.

The DJ Sona Ultimate Remix is part of Patch 26.23, which goes live on November 18. Don’t go looking for it in the store.
Riot has made it a Mythic Variant, which means you pull for it in the Sanctum instead of buying it. The 2015 original had a regular price of 3,250 RP in the normal shop.
How much does the DJ Sona Ultimate Remix cost?
Riot hasn’t listed a price, and under the Sanctum rules it never will. What you get is a ceiling.
Each pull in the Sanctum costs one Ancient Spark, and a Spark costs 400 RP
The top reward on a banner drops at a 0.5% chance per pull
Mythic Variant banners guarantee it on the 40th pull, which caps the cost at 16,000 RP
The 0.5% matters less than it looks. Run Riot’s published odds and only about 18% of players land the skin before pull 40. The other 82% go all the way to pity. On average, a player who wants her spends around 36 pulls, or roughly 14,500 RP.

Set that against 2015. The guaranteed price is almost five times the original Ultimate’s regular price. In US RP bundles, 16,000 RP works out to roughly $120 to $140, depending on which packs you buy.
Two rules worth knowing before you spend anything. Sparks never expire.
Pity is the other one. According to Riot’s support page, unfinished progress on a Mythic Variant banner carries over to the next Mythic Variant, while pulls on Exalted banners do not count. If you already pulled on this week’s K/DA banners without hitting the top reward, you may not be starting DJ Sona from zero.
What the remix actually changes
The splash cycles through three looks, each based on one of Riot’s virtual bands.
HEARTSTEEL: black outfit and yellow hood, with red and yellow train tracks rising from her headset
True Damage: short hair and a silver jacket with neon blue lining, with a synthesizer coming out of the headset
K/DA: red and black with silver accents, wrapped in red and purple sound waves
That is a smart echo of the original. DJ Sona launched on February 25, 2015 with three musical forms, Kinetic, Concussive and Ethereal, each with its own track. The remix swaps abstract genres for three bands players already know.
What Riot has not confirmed is whether the forms still switch in game. The original let you change mid-match by typing /toggle. If the remix only cycles on a splash, owners of the 2015 skin will notice straight away.
Why DJ Sona, and why now
Because she is already on the record.
“GIRLS (w/ DJ Sona)” is the fourth track on K/DA’s FIRESTARTER EP, alongside Sophie Powers, Sorana and Royal & The Serpent. Its music video premiered early on Spotify on November 3, and the wider release lands today. K/DA and True Damage then perform before the Worlds final in Brooklyn on November 14, four days before Patch 26.23 goes live.
She isn’t the first music skin to go this way. Two of the K/DA skins that shipped in Patch 26.22, Hitmaker Evelynn and FIRESTARTER Ignition Akali, are also Mythic Variants. A good chunk of Riot’s music push now runs through the gacha.
What sets DJ Sona apart is the skin underneath. Until now, Mythic Variants have been reimagined versions of existing Legendary skins. DJ Sona was never Legendary. She was an Ultimate, the top tier of the regular store.
What Riot has not answered yet
Riot’s reveal leaves four things out, and players will ask about all of them.
Do you need to own the original DJ Sona to get the DJ Sona Ultimate Remix?
Do 2015 owners get anything at all?
When does the Sanctum banner open, and how long does it run?
Does in-game form switching survive the remix?
The second one matters most. If 2015 owners get something, this is a nice nod to an 11-year-old skin. If they get nothing, the people who bought her the first time are being asked to pay again, at close to five times the price.
Cafe Cuties Neeko and Zoe
The other reveal from the same day works the old way: two skins you can buy straight from the store. They are expected to be Epic at 1,350 RP each, the price every earlier Cafe Cuties skin sold for, though Riot has not posted tiers or prices yet.
Neeko frosts a pink cake in a green dress with a purple bow. Zoe, with cherry red hair to match, reaches through one of her portals to steal the cherries off it.

The line started in 2021 with Gwen, Soraka, Sivir, Annie, Vladimir and Bard. It has had a second life this autumn in ARAM Mayhem, where Cafe Cuties is one of the Journey to Stardom Headliners and boosts health relics.
When do the new skins release?
PBE: both are in the test cycle for Patch 26.23
Live servers: Patch 26.23 on November 18

Is the DJ Sona Ultimate Remix worth chasing?
The art is excellent, and putting three bands in one skin is a clever update of the 2015 idea. If you loved the original, you’ll want this one.
Still, 16,000 RP for a guarantee is a lot to spend on a cosmetic, and Riot hasn’t answered those four questions. Sparks never expire, so waiting costs you nothing. Let Riot publish the banner’s drop table and say what 2015 owners get before you spend a single Spark.
