VALORANT’s new map will be fully revealed during the Masters London finale, but the community just received some major news: the map’s name, ‘Summit’, has been revealed, alongside some teasers. Here’s everything to know.

VALORANT is Adding a New Map

VALORANT‘s map pool shapes its players’ experience. Bind’s twisting corridors make no-sentinel, double-controller comps viable, and Lotus’ vital A-rubble makes space-taking initiators crucial. Soon, a new addition will join the lineup: on June 17, VALORANT announced a map reveal during the VCT Masters London Grand Finals. Fans can watch community influencers play on the map in an upcoming Creator Showmatch.

VALORANT’s New Map Name: Summit

On June 20, 2026, the community learned VALORANT’s new map’s name: Summit. Though we haven’t seen many images of it yet, it’s easy to imagine the location might have something to do with the title. Summit is reportedly located in a mountainous valley. If this is the case, it’s possible the map could have some cheeky vertical angles or sloping height differences, but we won’t know until its official layout reveal.

Each VALORANT map references a real-world country, and Summit is reportedly inspired by China. New alleged images of the map show regional architecture and cultural design elements that seem to align with that. Indeed, China has become an extremely influential region in the pro scene during the past few years: VALORANT added the region to its competitive circuit in late 2023. Since then, Chinese team EDward Gaming has won Champs, and other orgs like Bilibili, XLG, FunPlus Phoenix, and TYLOO have gained repute in international tournaments.

Fresh images circulating from Masters London show an in-person banner with some of the map’s key artwork. The Summit banner features a tall Chinese-architecture archway with bright blue-green colors. This yellow and blue color scheme might carry on to the whole map. Viewers can also make out some structures next to it: one looks like a more traditional house, while another seems like a multi-story, blocky industrial building.

Another picture from @ValorantUpdated on X.com seems to show one of the map’s spawn locations. Its jade-green flooring accents yellowish textured walls. The whole setup has China’s sweeping mountains as a backdrop. A blue-green substance seems to be glowing: could this be Radianite?

VALORANT’s YouTube channel also posted a video where several influencers describe the map in one word. They say it is ‘tight,’ ‘big’ and ‘dark’, with one mentioning it may have some connection to the existing map Corrode. Corrode is also a notoriously large map, and players on it take a while to rotate between sites.

Sage Lore Incoming

Summit has a very special connection to one particular Agent: Sentinel Sage has a history with the location. It seems to be a training ground for Radiants, and she might have honed her skills there. VALORANT’s official X.com account posted a short teaser video of Sage, captioned “Every journey has an origin. Tomorrow, Sage returns to SUMMIT.

In recent lore, we learned that Sage’s body becomes more crystallized as she heals her teammates, to the point that her health is in danger. The VALORANT team is on a journey to heal her up and get to the bottom of this mysterious condition.

Sage hails from China, as stated in her VALORANT profile. Notably, Duelist Iso is also from the country, but from a different location in Chongqing.

When is the VALORANT Masters London Summit Showmatch?

VALORANT’s Masters London Creator Showmatch will occur on Sunday, June 21, 2026, reportedly before the Grand Finals. It will officially begin at 6 AM PT / 9 AM EST / 2 PM BST, so fans should stop by the show a bit early if they want to watch. Two teams will compete: Team Chaos, led by Megsoundslikeegg, and Team Calm, led by Ailincia.

When is the New Map Coming to VALORANT?

Summit will likely release in-game with the next VALORANT Act, coinciding with Patch 13.00. This means it could pop up in-game quite soon. Most regions will receive the update on June 23, although some European locations will have to wait until June 24.

It’s possible that Summit will not immediately be available in the Competitive queue. With previous map releases, VALORANT has introduced a dedicated Unranked queue that allows players to try it out and get comfortable before cycling it into the map rotation a few days or weeks later. Even then, VALORANT usually reduces RR loss penalties for new maps during its introduction to Ranked.
