Riot has now said four things about the new agent. Everything else doing the rounds comes from leakers and a pop-up cafe poster. Here is which is which, two days before the reported reveal.

The VALORANT new agent reveal moved a step closer today. Riot posted a teaser called FINAL WORD, with one line of copy underneath it: “Soon, you’ll all see who has the final word.”

That is the fourth thing Riot has officially said about this agent. Everything else you have read in the last two weeks came from leakers, a pop-up cafe poster and some blurry images out of China.

Which is fine. It is also worth knowing which is which, because the VALORANT new agent reveal is reportedly two days away and a lot of confident writing is about to be proved wrong.

What has Riot confirmed about the VALORANT new agent reveal?

Four things, and none of them are gameplay.

  • A new agent exists and is coming soon. Riot would not be running a teaser campaign otherwise.
  • The teaser is called FINAL WORD. It carries one line: “Soon, you’ll all see who has the final word.”
  • The agent is a woman with long light hair, visible in both the official teaser graphics and today’s video.
  • There is a Shanghai pop-up running alongside Champions, with themed food and agent merchandise.

That is the complete list. Riot has published no name, no role, no abilities, no release date and no patch number.

One detail in the new video worth noticing

The lighting has changed colour.

The earlier artwork for the Shanghai cafe showed her under a pink streetlight. Coverage of those images described her eyes as pink, purple or bright yellow, depending on who was looking. The new video is lit green, with green trim on her gloves and a green glow around the frame.

That could mean her kit is green, which would make her the first agent since Viper to lean on that palette. It could equally mean the cafe poster and the video are two different scenes with two different lighting setups. Riot does both, so file it as a detail rather than a conclusion.

What is still a rumour?

Most of it, including every single thing anyone has told you about how she plays.

That she is a Duelist. Widely reported, sourced to leakers, never stated by Riot. Plausible given how long it has been since the last one, but not confirmed.

That she has an unusual dash. Leaker @valohabercisi claims a movement ability unlike existing dashes. Other coverage describes it as possibly a projectile instead. The two descriptions do not match each other, which tells you how solid the sourcing is.

That she is Chinese. Reported, unconfirmed, and partly inferred from the fact that the blurry images came out of VALORANT China and the pop-up is in Shanghai. Both are explained just as well by Champions being held there.

That she is called HUSH. This one landed today, from the same account behind the dash claim, crediting another leaker. Riot has published no name, and a codename is not a release name. Agents have shipped under internal names that never reached the client.

Worth noting what the name would fit. A teaser called FINAL WORD, a line about who gets the last word, and an agent called HUSH all point the same direction. That is either a coherent campaign or a leaker reading the same teaser you just watched.

None of this is a criticism of the people reporting it. Leaks are how this cycle has always worked. It only becomes a problem when a rumour gets repeated often enough that it starts reading like a patch note.

That the reveal is October 17. This is the most load-bearing rumour in the entire cycle, and Riot has said nothing about a date.

When is the VALORANT new agent reveal?

Reportedly Saturday October 17, during the closing weekend of Champions in Shanghai.

The scheduling makes sense. The lower bracket final falls on the 17th and the grand final on the 18th. That gives Riot two days of peak viewership, and it has used exactly those slots for agent reveals before.

Our Champions 2026 finals guide has the full schedule if you want to be watching when it happens.

A reveal is not a release

Worth separating these two, because people conflate them every single time.

A cinematic reveal at Champions tells you the agent exists and shows you roughly what she does. It does not put her in your client. Riot has historically run several days to a couple of weeks between revealing an agent and making her playable, usually tied to a patch.

So if the 17th holds, expect to watch her before you can play her. The last patch, 13.08, shipped on October 13 and said nothing about a new agent, which points to a later patch for the release itself.

What should you ignore?

Ability lists. Specifically, any article this week that gives you four named abilities with cooldowns and costs ahead of the VALORANT new agent reveal.

Nobody outside Riot has that. The leaks that exist describe one movement ability in two contradictory ways, and the rest is extrapolation from a silhouette. An ability list published before the reveal is a guess wearing a table.

The same goes for a name. We have a teaser titled FINAL WORD, which may be the agent’s name, may be her tagline, or may be a phrase Riot liked. Our earlier piece on the official teaser pictures covers what the images themselves showed.

H2: What to actually watch for

Three things over the 72 hours before the VALORANT new agent reveal.

Whether Riot confirms a date rather than letting the 17th circulate unchallenged. A silent confirmation by simply doing it on the day is also an answer.

Whether the green shows up again. One teaser is lighting. Two is a colour scheme, and a colour scheme usually means the abilities.

And whether she appears in a showmatch. Riot has used Champions showmatches to put new agents in front of an audience before anyone can queue them. That is the fastest route from reveal to real gameplay footage.

We will update once Riot says something official. Until then our Map Rating guide covers the other new system from this Act, our VALORANT section has the rest of the Champions coverage, and the teaser itself is on the official VALORANT site.
