The VALORANT Champions 2026 Anthem and Music Video are Here

Earlier this year, we saw Viper start her revenge arc after losing Chamber in an alternate universe. Now, Sage is here to balance the scales. VALORANT has just released a new Champions 2026 Anthem and music video featuring the two Agents, leaning into a ‘FRAG OR DIE’ theme that emphasizes their duality. Here’s a recap.

VALORANT Releases Champions 2026 Anthem: “IF THE SUN BURNS OUT TONIGHT”

The community is finally getting into Champions Shanghai spirit, and VALORANT is celebrating with a brand-new song release. If The Sun Burns Out Tonight ft. Grabbitz, Oli Sykes, Courtney LaPlante is officially the Champions 2026 anthem, so esports enthusiasts can listen along as they follow all the action.

This is nothing new for Riot Games: the studio loves supplementing its real-world esports events with fresh music drops. This phenomenon began in League of Legends, where Worlds anthems grew mainstream popularity. The title’s efforts led to virtual bands like K/DA and HEARTSTEEL (who are both making a comeback) forming, and brought Riot’s strategy into other titles.

The Champs 2026 anthem has an intense EDM vibe. Its beat drop combines motifs from VALORANT’s in-game music with the artists’ clear vocals.

New Cinematic Music Video

The Champions 2026 Anthem is currently live on YouTube with an added music video. It follows the tournament’s “FRAG OR DIE” theme, which emphasizes the game’s fast-paced intensity.

We see tons of familiar VALORANT Agents in the cinematic. Sage takes center stage. As one of VALORANT’s Chinese characters, she is especially key to Champions Shanghai, representing the tourney’s home turf. Sage also has a special connection to Summit, the game’s most recent map.

We also see Viper, who’s been a key part of recent VALORANT lore. In a previous cinematic, we saw her among two VALORANT teams fighting in alternate universes. There was a power struggle where Viper replaced Brimstone as the squad’s leader, and Riot also revealed that she had a relationship with Chamber.

In the new music video, Sova, Yoru, Waylay, Reyna, Iso, and Omen all pop up too. They’re all fighting on Summit while Viper and Sage go through a training arc. Omen doesn’t have the luckiest fate, unfortunately!

When is VALORANT Champions Shanghai 2026?

VALORANT Champions Shanghai 2026 will occur from Thursday, September 24 to Sunday, October 18. The tournament progresses through multiple stages (a Group Stage and Playoffs), so there will be plenty of matches before the Grand Final.
