A new gaming mouse has just launched, and it has a button that lets you do an instant 180-degree turn. There’s also a dedicated AI button. The internet is talking about the Razer Basilisk V4 Pro and how it could affect esports: let’s recap.
Razer is among the big names in FPS mouse production. Players in VALORANT, Counter-Strike, and other titles regularly use the company’s peripherals. The Razer Viper and Basilisk models are particularly popular, standing out as frequent picks alongside competitors like the G Pro x Superlight.
In October 2026, Razer released a new concept: the Basilisk V4 pro. This upgraded gaming mouse includes several new features, and they already have the internet talking.
First of all, the mouse has a Perfect 180 button, which lets users do an exact 180-degree turn in any FPS game just by clicking it. The Razer website writes about this addition:
“Perfect 180 is a customizable gaming mouse feature that lets you perform an instant 180-degree turn while gaming at low sensitivity. Designed for competitive FPS players, it can be assigned to a supported mouse button in Razer Synapse.”
The website includes an example video of Perfect 180 in action on Marvel Rivals. It states that Perfect 180 is specifically designed to “[give] competitive FPS players the edge to react to threats from any direction.”
The internet is already abuzz with discussion on whether the feature actually counts as in-game cheating. Players who can do an instant 180 turn on the battlefield have a distinct advantage over opponents, meaning the mouse is basically pay-to-win. However, since it’s still so new, there aren’t any tournament or game rulings yet on whether Perfect 180 is allowed.
@JustinW44998468 writes on X: “A mouse that does a 180 in one click is cheating, plain and simple.“
Meanwhile, @5kuffyy says: “Yes. Yes its cheating. Its not fair to all the players that put in the work with, adjusting sens, practicing techniques, scrims, etc. Honestly id be surprised if this wasn’t a cheat for purchasing prior to it being presented as a feature.”
Some netizens argue that the mouse improves accessibility, making it easier for players with movement restrictions to compete. However, others counter that it will create an even larger barrier to gaming by giving players who can’t afford or prefer not to play with the 180-turn feature a distinct disadvantage.
It’s likely regulation decisions will vary by tournament and game. Since Razer included Marvel Rivals as its example video, it’s possible Marvel Rivals esports could allow the mechanic. Marvel Rivals features prominently on the mouse’s main page.

Alongside the 180-degree spin button, netizens were quick to notice another key feature on the new Basilisk. The mouse also features an AI Prompt Master button.
“Why does this mouse have an AI button?” @walkthevo1d asks on X.com.
The Razer ‘AI Button’ is definitely newer, but this isn’t the first time it’s appeared with a product launch. This feature has been present on several Razer releases already. Essentially, it’s a mouse button connected to ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence tools. Clicking it will automatically open up those programs and allow users to enter prompts.
You might have noticed this feature already on:
Ultimately, the Razer AI Prompt Master button is purely cosmetic and doesn’t have any effect on gameplay, so it won’t impact esports at all. However, it’s a matter of personal preference, and some netizens have expressed frustration about having AI move from their PCs to peripherals.
