Team Vitality, LOUD Reach VALORANT Champions 2026 Upper Finals
Team Vitality swept G2 Esports, and LOUD defeated NRG. Now, the two teams will meet in the VALORANT Champions 2026 Upper Bracket Finals.

EMEA and VCT Americas are the last competitors standing in Champions Shanghai. Soon, Brazilian powerhouse LOUD will meet French roster Team Vitality in the Valorant Champions 2026 Grand Finals on October 18. One has the chance to make history by becoming the first team to win Champs twice, while another is aiming to bring its FPS influence across the board. What’s at stake, and how did both teams get here? Let’s recap.
The VALORANT Champions 2026 Grand Final between LOUD and Team Vitality kicks off on Sunday, October 18 2026. It begins at 3:00 AM EDT. Here’s a conversion for other time zones:
Champions Shanghai has a massive 2.25 million USD prize pool overall. Of this, the first-place winner earns 1 million USD. The second-place team will also walk away with 400,000 USD.
lukxo, Darker, erde, tkzin, and DaviH represent LOUD. erde is team captain and IGL.
Derke, Sayonara, Chronicle, Jamppi, and PROFEK are on the Vitality lineup. Jamppi is the captain.
LOUD is one of the VCT’s most long-standing competitors. In 2022, the org won the second-ever VALORANT Champions tournament. This winning roster, featuring star duelist aspas, caught worldwide attention.
Now, the lineup has completely changed, but whatever secret sauce strategy cooked up the first win is working its magic again. LOUD is once again in a position to potentially win the title’s most important trophy.
So far, no organization has won Valorant Champions twice. The winners so far are Acend in 2021, LOUD in 2022, Evil Geniuses in 2023, Edward Gaming in 2024, and NRG in 2025. If they succeed, LOUD could become the first team ever to earn two VALORANT Champions trophies.
Counter-Strike enthusiasts already know Team Vitality well. The org has made a name for itself in the game’s esports world, collecting several Majors and becoming known for its consistent and disciplined performance. Now, though, Vitality wants to expand its influence. It has stepped up its VALORANT performance in recent years, and that has paid off.
Winning Champions 2026 would affirm Vitality as a titan of not just CS2, but FPS esports overall. It would be their first Champions title and their first VALORANT international victory.
There’s another key reason they want the trophy, too. Vitality’s roster is stacked with veteran VCT players, and we know one name especially well. Chronicle is now playing in his third Champions Final without a trophy. 2026 could be the year he finally wins it all.
LOUD and Vitality climbed through a series of tough matchups to reach this year’s Grand Finals. LOUD started the Playoffs strong by knocking down analyst favorite Paper Rex, immediately asserting their power level. Things only got better for the Brazilian team once they took down NRG, last year’s reigning Champions winner. With these two matches out of the way before the Upper Finals even began, it was like they had finished two boss fights before the tutorial was even over.
In the Upper Final, LOUD and Vitality finally met. Team Vitality had just defeated NS RedForce and G2, formidable opponents in their own rights. LOUD and Vitality had a close matchup, but LOUD ultimately won and sent Vitality to the Lower Bracket Finals.
Here, Vitality faced 100 Thieves. With Cryo, Asuna, and more VCT mainstays on the team, this was an intense matchup. 100T started the best-of-5 strong with a 13-5 stomping, but Vitality locked in to reverse sweep them and claim a Grand Finals spot 3-1.
This means the Grand Finals pairing is a rematch. Will Vitality deliver its revenge to LOUD, or will LOUD send them off without a trophy once and for all?
It’s a tough question to answer. LOUD and Team Vitality are both storming the Champions 2026 brackets right now. The teams have different priorities and strengths which show on the battlefield.
LOUD’s team is younger, and has mostly new talent. Vitality’s, though, has plenty of VCT veterans. We’ve seen teams take chances on young rosters with less experience in the past and profit (take Leviatan, who climbed to a Masters London win after promoting members of their academy team). That said, you can’t discount the consistency and competitive edge of a lineup that has played these games before.
Vitality did beat LOUD in the Group Stage. However, their loss in the Upper Final might shine a more accurate light on their current team condition. LOUD’s 3-1 scoreline there is solid, but the matches they won were quite close (13-10, 13-11, and 13-9 respectively). Whether this is too close for comfort remains to be seen.
LOUD is known for fragging out. lukxo is the star, and his team creates openings for him to secure elims. We saw him score 16 First Bloods in the Upper Final, proving LOUD can back up their bark with bite. Even on Defender, the team takes risks and sets the tempo.
Team Vitality is more calculated. They’re known for discipline and methodical plays. It’s possible they could be the antidote that halts LOUD’s tricks in their tracks, or they could find themselves overwhelmed again against a team that takes the lead and makes the first move.

Riot Games announced in October that the entire VCT season will look very different next year. VCT 2027 will shift from franchised partner teams to prioritize an open qualifier system, meaning Champions 2026 is the last tournament upholding old team dynasties. This final has a lot at stake. LOUD can make history by completing a VALORANT ‘first’, while Vitality can finally win an international title. Whichever team takes the trophy, it will be the last champion of the franchise era.

Team Vitality swept G2 Esports, and LOUD defeated NRG. Now, the two teams will meet in the VALORANT Champions 2026 Upper Bracket Finals.

G2 Esports swept 100 Thieves 2-0, while Team Vitality barely surpassed Nongshim RedForce 2-1 in overtime. Now, G2 and Vitality will meet in the Valorant Champions 2026 upper semifinals, while 100 Thieves and Nongshim drop to the lower bracket for an elimination rematch.

Every single VCT CN team has exited Champions Shanghai 2026 in the first elimination round, and the region will not progress to the Playoffs.
