As Fnatic prepares to return in the VCT 2027 season, the team’s roster is restructuring. Initiator main crashies has just announced his departure. Here’s a recap.
On November 4, 2026, VALORANT org Fnatic officially announced Austin “crashies” Roberts is leaving its roster. crashies, who has played on Fnatic for two years, is the team’s main Initiator.
He previously represented NRG and OpTic Gaming, making the notable competitive transition between VCT Americas and VCT EMEA. The longtime VCT veteran won VALORANT Masters Reykjavík 2022 under the OpTic banner, later placing second in Champions 2025 and Masters Toronto 2025 with Fnatic.
Fnatic thanked crashies for his time on the lineup, saying “You’ll always have family here.”
In an attached video, crashies shouted out his former teammates Boaster and FNS. He referenced the fan-favorite ‘Brashies’ duo, telling fans there might be a chance for a collab again in the future.
Shortly after, crashies responded to Fnatic’s announcement with a statement. The pro emphasized “the people, the memories, the sacrifices, the late nights, the highs, the lows, and all the moments in between that made this journey so special.”
“It’s hard to put into words what these past two years have meant to me,” crashies wrote, “because this was never just about playing VALORANT.”
Roberts said Fnatic had become a ‘second home’ to him, and said the team contributed to his personal growth and skill as a player. He thanked teammates and the org’s community for supporting him, ending the text by stating:
“Thank you for everything, FNATIC. You’ll always have a special place in my heart.”
Fnatic is in a unique position among the VCT 2027 restructures. The EMEA organization has competed in the VCT since the tournament’s start, making it one of the longest-standing pro VALORANT teams.
Though Fnatic retains its VALORANT partnership in the VCT 2027 season, the team has experienced a performance decline. Until 2026, it qualified to every VALORANT Champions event, becoming a mainstay in the public eye. The org’s absence from international events this year, plus its relatively weak finishes in regional splits, caused community discussion.
Fnatic has told fans it will return stronger, but it is undergoing some major restructures at the moment first. Longtime IGL Boaster recently shifted to an inactive status, and is ‘exploring his options’ with other teams. The team’s core roster will look extremely different after off-season changes.
