As Cloud9 returns to Game Changers, the North American competition is intensifying. Let’s explore everything to know about the team’s new roster and what it means for the VALORANT esports scene.

Cloud9 Returns to Game Changers VALORANT

VALORANT‘s Game Changers Championship is drawing closer as the VCT season progresses. The 2026 tournament’s main event will go live in November, bringing the top women’s and GNC VALORANT players together in competition.

This year, North American esports org Cloud9 has announced it will expand with a new Game Changers roster. The team will include:

Cloud9’s announcement showed a montage of the team’s best clips and also included the new members discussing their goals. The roster is eager to ‘play at LANs’ and “reach the Championship and win it all.”

General Manager C9 Johnny commented, “Glad we were able to get this done in time for Stage 2! Super happy to be able to support Game Changers. This upcoming stage will be a great opportunity to get our feet wet and gear up for a great 2027 in the scene.”

What Does This Mean for VALORANT Esports?

It’s important to note that Cloud9 has a long history in GC. From 2020 to 2022, the team fielded the Cloud9 White roster, which made waves in the circuit. They placed fourth in the first-ever Game Changers Championship. Just a few months later, the project shuttered, and Shopify Rebellion acquired some of the lineup. This included meL and alexis, who are now multi-year Game Changers Champions.

Cloud9’s new roster could help them climb back to this era‘s status. As Cloud9 returns to Game Changers, the org will directly compete with Shopify Rebellion, FlyQuest, and other prominent North American teams. It also signals ongoing investment in the Game Changers circuit, which elevates women and GNC individuals in esports.

Overall, Cloud9 is a key player in NA esports, also fielding a main VCT circuit team known for being TenZ’s original home. That said, C9 VALORANT’s performance has slumped in recent years. The team also has prominent influence in Counter-Strike (excelling in the 2018-2019 season) and League of Legends, where the roster has participated in several Worlds.
