VCT Stage 2 is approaching, and teams are shuffling up their rosters to get ready. GIANTX has just announced a new addition: Controller and Sentinel main neT. Let’s explore everything we know.

GIANTX Announces neT Has Joined

On July 10, 2026, European VALORANT org GIANTX unveiled its newest member. According to an X.com announcement, Michael “neT” Bernet will become the team’s fifth player and IGL.

neT has played VALORANT professionally since the game launched in 2020. He arrives to GIANTX from American org FlyQuest, which he has represented for the past two months. He also has past experience on NRG‘s Academy Team, G2 Esports, and Cloud9.

Bernet participated in Masters Reykjavík 2022 and the VCT Americas circuit in 2025. In 2023, he won VCT Ascension. Throughout 2026, he has been playing in VALORANT’s Challengers league.

The Controller and Sentinel player posted on his personal account to celebrate the move, writing, “Let’s f—ing go.” He also thanked his agency for connecting him with his new team.

What Does This Mean for GIANTX?

This move is a notable transition, since neT is an American player who previously competed in VALORANT’s Americas region. All of his previous teams hail from NA, so GIANTX will place him against new opponents.

NA is traditionally a weak region in international FPS tournaments. Counter-Strike, in particular, has seen this phenomenon in recent years. However, VALORANT’s Americas teams can hold their own against APAC and EMEA competitors. NRG, for example, notably won Champions 2025. Evil Geniuses also took home the trophy in 2023. Though G2 Esports has never earned a Champions top spot, the team is known as one of the game’s analyst favorites and tends to sweep the VCT Americas stages.

GIANTX’s neT signing also occurs shortly before VCT EMEA Stage 2 kicks off on July 15. The VCT’s Stage 2 tournaments have high stakes, since they determine 8 of the 15 VALORANT Champions 2026 team slots. This means winners have a chance to advance and stake their place in the game’s history. For more information on VCT Stage 2 and the schedule, check out our guide here.
