T1’s League of Legends team have ascended from athletes to celebrity status. Now, the org is reportedly launching a ‘T1 Stars’ campaign, turning its members into a K-Pop boy band in a Spotify partnership. Here’s everything to know.
South Korean League of Legends team T1 is an esports mainstay, frequently appearing at international events. The team is especially high-profile this year, since it’s holding up a three-year Worlds winning streak and currently holds the most Worlds trophies in League history. Star player Lee “Faker” Sang-Hyeok has also been appearing in the news, since he recieved one of South Korea’s highest athletic distinctions and became an honorary police officer. In addition, the mid-laner is starring in a Disney show (yeah, he’s been on a lot of side quests).
T1 has been on the grind lately, most recently defeating rivals Gen.G in an LCK Group Stage matchup. However, the org is still making time for some silliness: T1 has announced a K-Pop marketing campaign that will turn its League roster into a boy band, ‘T1 Stars.’ The debut is building up hype for its T1 Home Ground event, where LCK teams will battle it out on T1’s home turf.

Yes, this boy band is real, and it seems like they may be making real music. Fans and netizens have noticed T1’s promotions on Spotify, which it is partnering with for the stunt. The team is reportedly releasing a concept photo, making an official debut, and even dropping a lead single. Doran, Oner, Faker, Peyz, and Keria all posed together in a fresh image, drawing inspiration from classic groups like BTS, Stray Kids, and ENHYPEN. The team is swagged out in leather jackets, fingerless gloves, and edgy jewelry.

Jungler Oner supported the concept by dropping new pictures on his Instagram account, in a snazzy K-Pop inspired outfit. The promotional photos also tied into the T1 Home Ground theme.
Much of this information comes from the Spotify Korea account, which has dropped some hints about the T1 x Spotify collab. The account made a post on August 3, 2026, claiming T1 would release new music on Monday, August 18, 2026 at 6 PM KST. The graphic included claimed that fans could expect a live performance and a music video release.
However, the account has since deleted the post. It’s unclear if the music plans will not actually occur, or if this was just information posted too early/accidentally leaked.

This isn’t the first time T1 has expressed interest in the K-Pop world. The org’s VALORANT team appointed Fifty-Fifty’s Athena as its official ambassador, and features artists like SEVENTEEN in its Home Ground music lineups. The festival includes plenty of concerts, combining music and esports.
