Overwatch has reportedly launched a new player interest survey, and the latest drop asks fans for their thoughts on a possible Overwatch x Arcane collab. Here’s everything we know.
Overwatch’s development studio, Blizzard, has been stepping up its communication with players in recent years. The studio is known for its market research surveys, which ask community members for their thoughts about possible partnerships and different in-game patches. This has become increasingly important as competition in the Hero Shooter genre becomes more intense, and many different options are appealing to gamers.
On August 1, 2026, Blizzard launched a brand-new collaboration survey. The quiz asked its Overwatch player base which potential collaborations they wanted to see in the future, and League of Legends animated series Arcane featured as one of the first possible options.

The animated series, inspired by Riot Games’ Runeterra universe, went viral upon its launch in November 2021. It follows League Champion Jinx and her sister Vi as they grow through a difficult childhood and struggle through political turmoil. Later, the pair rebuild their relationship and uncover a world of arcane magic. The plot has in-depth, mature themes and became a staple of adult animation.
Riot and Fortiche Production spent years on the show, and the payoff was massive. The painterly, textured artwork began a new animation style trend. It also gave players much-needed character depth for in-game characters, turning Jinx, Vi, and their peers into people audiences genuinely cared about. The project was a huge part of connecting gaming culture to the mainstream. For longtime League fans and total newcomers alike, Arcane became proof that expanding games to other forms of media can be extremely successful.
It’s important to note that if Overwatch does secure an Arcane collab, the partnership would still be in its early stages. Blizzard sends out surveys frequently, and it’s often just to check in with the player base and see where they stand on important issues. The newest edition is important because it shows that Arcane is a clear option and indicates Blizzard is interested in pursuing the brand. That said, nothing is set in stone yet, and it’s also entirely possible the studio could opt for a different pathway.

One major point in the idea’s favor is that Riot Games has shown its openness to Arcane collabs before. For example, Fortnite fans might remember the Arcane x Fortnite skin re-release in November 2025. Riot also added Arcane-inspired cosmetics to VALORANT, its hero FPS that exists in a completely different world from League.
Usually, Overwatch’s collaborations include a ton of themed skins for its Heroes. If an Arcane collab goes through, fans might see main characters like Jinx, Vi, Ekko, Caitlyn, Jayce, Mel, Viktor, and Warwick. Imagine a Caitlyn Widowmaker skin, for example. The two snipers have a similar sihlouette, and the concept could be pretty cool.
Of course, there would also be more in store: some collabs include built-in events, where players complete in-game challenges to earn free rewards. There are also new accessories, like nameplates, player icons, emotes, sprays, and more.
According to reputable leak account @OWCavalry, there are a host of additional options in the Blizzard survery. It includes some other video game-related brands, like Bioshock, Cyberpunk, Dead By Daylight, God of War, and Halo. There are also plenty of anime franchises, like Bleach and Cardcaptor Sakura.

Here’s a full list:
Collaborations between game franchises are becoming much more common. We saw some Persona x Overwatch collab in September 2025, bringing together two popular universes. Rainbow 6 fans might also notice teammates walking around as Metal Gear’s Solid Snake and Halo’s Master Chief.
Skin collaborations between different video game franchises matter because they give players a reason to get excited about worlds colliding in ways nobody expected. When a game like Fortnite teams up with franchises like Naruto, Marvel, or even League of Legends, it creates a shared cultural moment that reaches fans who might never have touched the original game. These partnerships often help franchises stay relevant as they become smaller or age by introducing them to entirely new audiences through a game with a bigger, more active player base. Usually, these crossovers also drive massive engagement and revenue.
For developers, it’s a low-risk way to build goodwill between brands while giving longtime fans something fresh to grind for. The collabs get people talking and spice up existing universes with a splash of creativity.
