Riot shipped the last patch before the Worlds patch, and it reads like two games stapled together. One half tunes Summoner’s Rift for the biggest tournament of the year. The other half drops a hot dog on the floor that makes whoever grabs it breathe fire. LoL patch 26.19 went live on September 22, 2026, and it is one of the wildest sets of notes Riot has put out in a while.

Below is the version you can send to a friend without them reading 4,000 words of tooltips. The pro-relevant Rift changes, the pre-rework champions coming back in Classic, and the Arena augments that should not exist.

What’s in LoL patch 26.19?

  • First Worlds prep on the Rift: targeted nerfs to meta staples like Vi, Poppy and Nocturne, plus buffs to fringe picks Riot wants to see at the tournament.
  • A Nasus tax: the perennial split-push menace loses early Q damage so he comes online later.
  • Teleport quest buff: top laners get a shorter Teleport cooldown to push split-push strategies.
  • League Classic drop three: pre-rework Graves, Fizz, Nami and Nautilus return in their old forms, along with three community-voted items.
  • Arena goes feral: Shark Bait, Hellbent, and a hot dog that lets teammates hurt each other.
  • Team Voice slips again: the all-team voice chat rollout gets pushed back.
  • New skins: Coven Janna, Coven Mel, Old God Anivia and Old God Urgot land September 23.

How does LoL patch 26.19 change the meta before Worlds?

The Worlds patch is the next one, so this is Riot’s first swing at shaping the tournament pool. The pattern is clear once you read past the champion names: knock down the picks that have been everywhere all year, and nudge up a few sleepers that could add variety without breaking anything.

The nerfs pros will feel first:

  • Vi loses base attack damage and a chunk of her Blast Shield, so she keeps the damage but gives up the durability that made her a year-long staple.
  • Poppy gets her jungle clear reverted, aimed at how often she shuts down half the roster as a counterpick.
  • Nocturne eats a big ultimate cooldown hike (140/115/90 up to 160/130/100 seconds), cutting the global map pressure that made him a pro and solo-queue favorite.
  • Ryze loses Overload damage and Spell Flux mana efficiency, with a small armor buff thrown in to soften his worst matchups.
  • Rumble gets an elite-skewed passive cut, with jungle compensation so the change lands on the players abusing him most.
  • Morgana and Twisted Fate both get pulled down for being too strong across two roles at once.

The buffs that could add Worlds variety:

  • Aatrox gets his cooldowns and healing back up after Sundered Sky nerfs pushed him out.
  • Aphelios gains damage across Calibrum, Severum and Infernum to coax the hypercarry back into an enchanter meta that should love him.
  • Kha’Zix gets better evolves, including a +300 Leap range, giving him room to flex.
  • Kassadin reclaims his full 700-range Riftwalk after years stuck on the shorter version, plus mid-game power.
  • Galio, Fiora, Lillia and Elise round out the picks Riot wants back in the conversation.

We broke down the early PBE version of these changes in our patch 26.19 preview, and most of it shipped as expected.

The Nasus nerf explained

Nasus deserves his own line, because Riot called him out by name (and only him) in the intro. The problem was consistency: grab a few early stacks, snowball the Q, and he becomes impossible to keep down.

The fix is a base Siphoning Strike nerf, dropping bonus damage from 40/60/80/100/120 to 30/50/70/90/110. He still scales into a monster. He just gets there later and takes more early punishment on the way. If you first-pick Nasus into a bad matchup, expect a rougher lane.

Teleport quest buff: what changes for top lane?

Top lane has been quietly weak for split-pushing, so Riot buffed the tool that enables it. The free Teleport from the top role quest drops from a 420-second cooldown to 390, and the upgraded Unleashed Teleport goes from 330-240 to 300-210. Non-top Unleashed Teleport stays the same, so this is a top-lane-only power bump.

More Teleport uptime means more map plays and more punished cross-map mistakes. Split-push comps that fell out of favor get a real reason to come back.

League Classic drop three: pre-rework Graves is back

Now the fun part. League Classic keeps pulling old champions out of the vault, and this water-themed drop is the best one yet. Pre-rework Graves from 2011 to 2015 returns as a real bot-lane ADC, alongside Fizz, Nami and Nautilus in their original forms. Riot also revived three community-voted items: Cloak and Dagger, Moonflair Spellblade and Zz’Rot Portal.

Graves alone is worth logging in for, and there is a lot to say about how each old kit plays. We covered the full drop, every returning ability and the item revivals in our pre-rework Graves and League Classic guide.

Arena augments in LoL patch 26.19

Arena is where the notes go off the rails. Riot added a hot dog that spawns on the floor and lets whoever grabs it breathe fire (including at their own teammates), a Shark Bait augment that turns your death into a giant shark chomp, and a Hellbent augment built around stacking something called Revivemaxxing.

There are more, plus three Guests of Honor and a big energy-regen buff. We listed and ranked every new Arena augment in our Arena augments breakdown.

Team Voice delayed again

Team Voice, the expansion that lets you voice chat with your whole team instead of just your premade party, was supposed to reach North America and Oceania in patch 26.20. Riot pushed it back after testing, with no new target patch. The reasoning is quality, since players have asked for the feature for years and Riot wants it to clear the bar first.

New skins in patch 26.19

Four skins headline the patch on September 23: Coven Janna, Coven Mel, Old God Anivia and Old God Urgot. A stack of chromas follows, covering Coven Ahri, Ashe and Morgana among others. Prices and splash art are in our Coven and Old Gods skins guide.

Is LoL patch 26.19 worth logging in for?

If you play ranked, the Rift changes decide your next two weeks of drafts, so learn the Nasus and Nocturne timings before your opponents do. If you play for fun, Classic and Arena are the reason to log in tonight. Pre-rework Graves and a fire-breathing hot dog in the same patch is not a combination anyone expected.
