Arena has always been the mode where Riot lets loose, and patch 26.19 is the most unhinged batch yet. Fresh LoL Arena augments include a hot dog that makes you breathe fire, a shark that erupts from your corpse, and an augment named after an ambulance siren. Two of them came from community creators at the For The Win Invitational.

Here is every new augment, what it does, and which ones are worth forcing your build around.

The wild new LoL Arena augments

  • Got That Dog In Em: every three seconds a hot dog spawns nearby. Anyone can grab it to breathe fire. Enemies who pick it up can damage their own allies, and if you die while breathing fire, you explode for magic damage per stack. Chaos in a bun.
  • Shark Bait: take fatal damage and you become a zombie for 3.5 seconds, invulnerable and uncontrollable, before a giant shark erupts from beneath you and chomps everyone within 400 units for up to 350 damage plus missing-health scaling. At max level, your whole team turns into sharks on death.
  • Hellbent: stack Revivemaxxing by hitting enemies, and at 10 stacks you go Hellbent. Take lethal damage and you resurrect invulnerable for four seconds, then come back with 35 to 75% health, bonus Adaptive Force, move speed toward enemies and Omnivamp.
  • Rite of Ascension: a takedown within three seconds of your damage leaves the enemy’s Essence on the ground. Consume it to blink over, reset your basic ability cooldowns and heal, scaling up with your own missing health.
  • Wee Woo Wee Woo: gain move speed toward wounded allies and heal or shield them harder the closer they are to death. Named after the ambulance noise, and no, we are not making that up.

The rest of the new augment list

Riot added more than the meme picks. The full list of new LoL Arena augments:

  • Archmage: casting an ability refunds 30% of that ability’s cooldown to a random other ability.
  • Crit N Cast: gain Ability Haste equal to 40% of your crit chance, bridging crit and ability builds.
  • Death Dealer: replaces Flee. Send a target to the Death Realm for up to eight seconds and go invisible for the first two.
  • Nature Is Healing: step into a brush and heal for a flat amount plus missing health over 1.5 seconds, on a per-brush cooldown.
  • Sonata: auto-casts modified versions of Sona’s Aria of Perseverance and Song of Celerity on a rotation, healing, shielding and speeding your team.
  • Surge Field: casting your ultimate spawns a zone that grants 50 Ability Haste and 40% move speed while you stand in it, and fires bonus magic missiles on your damage.
  • Titan’s Resolve: stack Juggernauting from dealing and taking damage for Adaptive Force, resists, size and Tenacity.
  • Warlock Juicebox: gain Omnivamp scaling off your Ability Power.

Guests of Honor: Ivern, Senna and Thresh

Three champions join as Arena Guests of Honor, dropping global effects into every game:

  • Thresh: while a player is downed, he throws a lantern every eight seconds that shields nearby allies, and anyone can click it to pull the downed player back.
  • Senna: opens three portals to the Death Realm that anyone can travel through and use to return to the living.
  • Ivern: spawns a permanent brush at the location of every player on a team that loses a round.

Arena champion and system changes in patch 26.19

Riot tuned the strongest and weakest Arena champions to widen the pool. On the nerf side, Bel’Veth, Dr. Mundo, Sion and Zed lost power, while Aphelios, Lee Sin, Neeko and Zeri got buffed toward viability.

The biggest system change is energy regen. Bonus energy regeneration based on missing health jumps from up to 100% to up to 400%, so energy champions can spam far more when they drop low. Augment tuning also hit the extremes: Giant Slayer got cut, while Scavenger doubled its gold from 500 to 1,000 and Spellcraft got a shorter cooldown and more base damage.

Which new Arena augments are worth taking?

The safe, always-good picks are the stat-scalers: Titan’s Resolve on any bruiser, Warlock Juicebox on AP carries, and Archmage on low-cooldown spellcasters. The comeback tools, Hellbent and Shark Bait, swing close games hardest, so grab them when you are behind. Got That Dog In Em is a coin flip that can hand the enemy a weapon, so read the lobby before you commit.

Arena is one half of the patch’s chaos. The other is League Classic, where pre-rework Graves returns as a bot-lane ADC, covered in our Graves and Classic guide. For the full patch, see our LoL patch 26.19 hub and the patch 26.18 breakdown, or read the official notes.
