One of the craziest Marvel Rivals leaks yet has hit the internet. Dataminers have found what looks like a functioning vehicle system, where Heroes can drive cars across the map. Is this part of some upcoming event, or just a bit of harmless banter? Here’s everything we know.
Marvel Rivals’ Season 9.5 update has the community hyped. Players are looking forward to new additions like a Lady Loki animation rework, new hero The Hood, and more skins. Still, if there’s one thing we know about Marvel Rivals, it’s that the devs are always cooking up something new, and this leak is no exception.
On August 6 2026, Marvel Rivals netizens found footage of what looks like an in-game vehicle system. The clip shows a default texture car model zooming around a beach.
Here’s some gameplay of an upcoming vehicle system. It’s unknown where these will appear, but I think it may be a Formula R racing game mode of some sort. (not sure) #MarvelRivals

The video shows some UI in the top-left corner, too. Players can switch what Hero is driving and access several modes. The car can accelerate, decelerate, and reverse.
Reputable leaker @RivalsInfo wrote about the video, “It’s unknown where these will appear, but I think it may be a Formula R racing game mode of some sort.“
One X.com user commented, asking if this was a joke or a real leak. RivalsInfo responded, “I am not joking.”
Netizens seem excited about the reveal. Jeff the Land Shark himself even popped up to show his approval: a user named @Jeffrey_Shark posted a gif of Ryan Gosling locked in while whippin’ the Benz in Drive.

The Marvel Rivals community is speculating on how exactly this car model will integrate with the game. Since it seems like the cars have an in-depth driving system, a lot of theories point to potential new game modes. Maybe these will be Formula 1-style drift races across the map. It could also be a more chill Mario Kart type of situation, where players try to sabotage opponents with items or abilities while charging forward.
One user wondered if this was related to the Formula R skinline: “if this is for the Formula R skinline, then Luna gets a car, Black Cat and Psy get motorbikes, Thor gets a horse, and Squirrel Girl gets a WHOLE A– HELICOPTER.”

Some netizens are pointing out potential similarity to Fortnite’s vehicle system. One even pinged Epic Games and the official Fortnite account, playfully saying “they reheating y’all nachos.” The game lets players drive across its large Battle Royale map in cars. Squads can hop in together, making for fun little road trips. The concept meshed pretty smoothly with players. However, it’s unclear how it would work in a hero shooter.
Fortnite’s cars are also successful because they provide a fresh cosmetic category. You can purchase some car skins in the Shop. It’s a no-brainer for the platform, since it lets them make more money while fans get to express themselves.
Another option is that the car could point to new vehicle-based Heroes, like Ghost Rider. This supernatural skeleton rides a flaming motorcyle to enforce vigilante justice. You’ve probably seen him in those hardcore memes that say something like ‘born to dilly-dally, forced to lock in.’
If a vehicle system comes to Marvel Rivals, we don’t know exactly when it would arrive. The gameplay footage appears unfinished, as the car doesn’t have a texture and its animations are still a bit wobbly. Marvel Rivals is planning a Season 10.0 update on September 11. Players could potentially get some more info about this feature then.
