FACEIT is rolling out a fresh AI anti-cheat. Let’s explore everything to know about Human Input Detection, which will add a new layer to the platform’s existing ecosystem.

FACEIT Introduces Human Input Detection Anti-Cheat

FACEIT has been ramping up its punishments for players who aren’t showing team spirit. Earlier in the week, the third-party Ranked client announced much harsher account restrictions for certain offenses. Players who actively throw and engage in dehumanizing/highly toxic behavior will see their ban times tripled, growing depending on whether they repeat their offenses. Plus, the minimum hacking ban time is doubling from 2 years to 5 years.

In addition to updated policies, it seems FACEIT is following up on current problem player reports. The system’s ban rates have skyrocketed, kicking out more cheaters than ever before.

Base Counter-Strike is adjusting its VAC ban systems as well, indicating an awareness of the trend. However, players have noticed some false positives in the game’s analysis, causing a decline in player trust. It looks like FACEIT may be stepping in with an alternative to fulfill the community’s wishes.

On July 30, 2026, FACEIT announced the next step in its anti-cheat efforts: an advanced program called “Human Input Detection.” This method contains an algorithm that aggregates and reads player movements, identifying users who deviate from the most popular patterns. In an introductory post, the platform claims Human Input Detection “continuously learns from millions of matches and gets better with every one.”

The new program is intended to combat the rising popularity of AI cheats, which adapt to avoid ban waves and replicate human-like behavior. These have become a particular issue in Counter-Strike competitive play.

FACEIT Director of Integrity Amir emphasized that the program has already worked well in a testing environment. He noted, “In testing, it improved the speed of our detections, and proved especially against the brand-new AI cheats we’ve talked about throughout this year.”

How Does FACEIT Human Input Detection Work?

FACEIT’s Human Input Detection anti-cheat is a machine learning program that utilizes AI to constantly re-evaluate and improve its hacking detection. The system “detects cheaters by their in-game actions, not by the software they use.”

In other words, Human Input Detection will not even look at a player’s PC. It doesn’t need kernel-level access, although the FACEIT client already has that. All it does is automatically monitor and analyze your gameplay, identifying inhuman anomalies. It is “trained to set human behavior apart from machines.” Notably, FACEIT uses data from the top-ranked players in its pool, so the algorithm should allow for high-level performance. It won’t boot you for having a good game or hitting an extremely lucky flick.

Human Input Detection will work in tandem with FACEIT’s other anti-cheat methods. It won’t completely replace the existing client; it’s just there to give a little extra accuracy and support. “It acts as another signal our integrity systems weight,” says Amir.

The program will “increase protection across CS2 matchmaking, ESEA League, and the official qualifiers in [FACEIT’s] ecosystem.” So, yes, this will be used in esports tournaments. In addition, players don’t have to download anything for it to take effect. Human Input Detection will go live server-side, without any additional installs on the user’s end.

When Will the New FACEIT Anti-Cheat Start?

FACEIT’s advanced Human Input Detection anti-cheat will go live on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. It arrives with the start of FACEIT Season 9, which is bringing plenty of additional changes. For instance, half-time voice chat is returning, so players can converse with their enemies and engage in some friendly banter across team boundaries.
