As HEROIC gets ready for the BLAST Bounty Summer Qualifiers and other key events, the organization has cut Counter-Strike coaches TOBIZ and Ronic. Here’s everything we know about the move.
HEROIC is Releasing Coaches TOBIZ and Ronic
On July 6, 2026, European org HEROIC announced that it is officially releasing coaches Tobias “TOBIZ” Theo and Mathias “Ronic” Pinholt from its Counter-Strike roster. In a related X.com post, the team stated they are “making changes to the coaching staff.”

HEROIC thanked TOBIZ and Ronic for their efforts, especially their work in qualifying for the IEM Cologne 2026 Major: “We want to thank you both for everything you brought to the team, on and off the server. You played a crucial role in bringing us to the IEM Cologne Major, even winning a trophy along the way. We appreciate all the hard work, dedication, and perseverance despite the challenges thrown at you.”
The team ended the statement by writing, “We wish you the best of luck for whatever comes next.”
TOBIZ and Ronic React
TOBIZ, who joined HEROIC in June 2025, has represented the org for just over a year. He arrived during a period of high turnover, as the team was struggling to rebuild after losing several key members to Team Falcons.
TOBIZ posted a comment on his personal X.com account, addressing his release: “My 1-year journey has come to an end as [HEROIC]
informed me yesterday that they want to go in a new direction.” The coach states that he is “Taking some valuable lessons with me and looking forward to my next adventure,” and urged interested parties to reach out as he is now a free agent.

The former coach also stated, “Thanks to current and former players + staff for their time, best of luck and have fun.”
Ronic has not yet commented on the decision as of 1:15 PM EST.
What Does This Mean for HEROIC in Counter-Strike?
Though HEROIC qualified for IEM Cologne 2026, the org’s actual performance was subpar. It scored near the bottom of the event leaderboard, only winning one matchup, placing 28th of 30 competitors, and failing to progress beyond Stage 1. The team’s status in international events has also sharply declined throughout 2025 and 2026.
In the coming weeks, HEROIC will participate in Stake Ranked Episode 3 and the BLAST Bounty Summer Qualifier, both significant tourneys. BLAST Bounty Summer 2026 is another key international face-off, and since HEROIC’s poor placement in IEM Cologne likely contributed to the coaching switch-up, the team is probably aiming to step up its game before it starts.
In 2023, HEROIC was one of Counter-Strike’s top competitors. The team won the year’s BLAST Premier Spring Final, styling on fearsome opponent Team Vitality. However, a series of transfers in 2024 and 2025 broke the core roster apart. Team Falcons had snatched TeSeS, kyxsan, and degster up, forcing HEROIC to rebuild its lineup from scratch. It will be an uphill battle for the org to return to its former state.
