FaZe Counter-Strike Officially Signs Stand-In Neityu: “Here to Stay”

FaZe Clan first brought Neityu on as a stand-in during one of the team’s toughest transitions. Now, he’s joining the ranks permanently with a contract. Here’s everything to know.

Neityu’s Time as a FaZe Stand-In

Ryan “Neityu” Aubry stepped into FaZe’s Counter-Strike ranks as a stand-in during a key transition in the org’s structure. Core roster member karrigan had just left for Falcons, shaking up long-term team comps. Twistzz stepped up as IGL to fill the gap, with the team’s future performance looking uncertain.

Neityu had been sitting on the bench at ENCE, so bringing him in gave FaZe a quick way to fill the roster without rushing into a long term deal. It was a ‘trial run,’ if you will. As some of the year’s most important tournaments loomed on the horizon, he had a unique opportunity (and huge responsibility) to make an impact. The young pro had to prove himself on one of the CS sphere’s most well-known teams by stepping in on a time crunch. He suited up for FaZe across three events: BLAST Rivals Season 1, IEM Atlanta, and Stake Ranked Episode 2.

The team’s IEM Atlanta finish was less than ideal, but it scored a solid 3rd in BLAST Rivals and Stake Ranked. FaZe has since continued doing well on an international level, and it’s an upward trend from recent years. Neityu returned for the XSE Pro League and BLAST Bounty Summer. The community noticed that he held his own during these events, and performed well under pressure.

On August 11, FaZe made the transfer permanent. The organization announced that Neityu “is here to stay” with a fresh contract. Just in case there was any doubt, they also wrote that the decision is “officially official.”

In an accompanying video, FaZe elaborated on the move and included a montage with Neityu’s best moments and interview snippets. “After playing the first two events with him, he was a very good fit. Everyone just kinda took a liking to him instantly.”

Neityu also joked, “I thought I was just gonna show up again…”

The move will take Neityu off of Finnish team ENCE, which he occupied since late 2024. The 21-year-old was moved to the bench in March, so his time on FaZe has helped him keep career momentum.

Notably, Neityu was also part of German org MOUZ‘s Academy team, MOUZ NXT. MOUZ is currently in a strong position, most recently winning BLAST Bounty Summer. The team also won PGL Cluj-Napoca in 2025, grabbed 3rd at PGL Astana 2026, and had a respectable run through the ESL Pro League Season 23.

FaZe is currently competing in the 2026 Esports World Cup. This will be Neityu’s first test as an official member of the team.
