BIG Partners its CS2 Team With Razed

Counter-Strike team Berlin International Gaming (BIG) announced a partnership with Razed on August 5, 2026. The betting site will become its new main partner.

A press release from the team noted:

“The partnership centers on BIG’s Counter-Strike 2 team as well as international marketing and community activations, and includes prominent Razed branding on the front of the official team jersey.

Razed will be part of various BIG campaigns moving forward. Together, the two partners plan to develop international content formats and engage the global Counter-Strike community through creative content and joint projects. Their goal is to bring athletes and fans closer together while putting more of a spotlight on the players’ personalities outside of gameplay.”

Esports Trend: Fans Want to See Players as Influencers

The move ties into a cultural trend, where esports athletes are reaching mainstream celebrity status. For example, League of Legends star Faker recently starred in a Disney show, and musician Keshi met up with 100T Cryo during VALORANT’s VCT Americas. Fans are asking to see their favorite pros both on and off the battlefield.

BIG CEO Daniel Finkler stated, “We are very excited that Razed is now expanding its commitment to esports by
becoming the main partner of our BIG CS2 team.”

The team notes that Razed will support the BIG CLUB on FACEIT, which has over 130,000 members, as part of the partnership.

Razed Head of Esports Ethan Johnson confirmed, ““BIG is one Europe’s most well-known esports organizations and has one of the most passionate fanbases in the industry, which makes us incredibly excited to be joining them as their main partner. We’re excited to continue to highlight to the CS community that Razed is serious about esports and here to stay.”

What Does This Mean for BIG CS2?

BIG surged to a Counter-Strike prime era in 2020, climbing to the top of HLTV’s global rankings for several weeks. The team was particularly fearsome in European regional circuits, also taking home IEM Beijing Online and DreamHack Open Summer trophies that year. AWPer SyrsoN and XANTARES (later part of Eternal Fire/Aurora Gaming) exploded in popularity during this era.

BIG’s power levels slacked after the season. However, after an IEM Cologne Major qualification in June, BIG is looking to refine its play and climb back up the European rankings ladder. The org made some significant roster moves in January, acquiring blameF from FNATIC. BIG also re-signed two former players: faveN, who returns as a rifler, and tiziaN, who is kicking off as Assistant Coach after several years away. tiziaN was notably present for the team’s 2020 winning streak, so BIG’s community is hoping his influence could help it return to peak form.

Partnerships with brands help boost esports teams’ influence and can often lead to sponsorship opportunities. In particular, the sports betting industry is closely linked to esports in many different titles. This kind of collab is not an uncommon phenomenon: Team Vitality, Astralis, and G2 Esports are all among the rosters who have signed such deals in the past. Norweigan org HEROIC has also previously partnered with Razed.
