As 100 Thieves’ return to Counter-Strike continues, the team is making some key roster changes. André “Ag1l” Gil has just been benched, and several other org members will see reshuffles. Let’s explore what this means for the team and Counter-Strike as a whole.
On June 29, 2029, 100 Thieves announced on its Counter-Strike X.com account: “We have made the decision to move [Ag1l] to our reserves moving forward.” The org stated that this decision arrives during significant internal changes, which will “rebuild our core structure.”
We have made the decision to move @ag1LLL to our reserves moving forward as we rebuild our core structure. All of us want to thank André for the good memories we shared both on and off the server during his time since our return to Counter Strike. Obrigado, André.

The team thanked Ag1l “for the good memories we shared both on and off the server during his time since our return to Counter Strike […] Obrigado, André.”
In an additional post reply, 100 Thieves clarified this wouldn’t be the only major roster reshuffle. Performance coach Jaime “Séns” Callejas is also leaving: “Best of Luck on your future endeavours Jaime.”
2026 is 100 Thieves’ first full year back on the Counter-Strike battlefield. Despite having a star-studded history in the esports world, the team departed the esports franchise in 2020, only re-entering in November 2025. From the beginning, they aimed to compete at the highest level, signing ex-pro and well-known analyst Sean Gares as Head of FPS and legendary Astralis IGL gla1ve as coach. 100 Thieves also snatched Antwerp 2022 Major-winner rain up from an inactive role in FaZe Clan.
Ag1l was a newer addition to the roster. He played for 100 Thieves for under a year, being acquired in January 2026, and previously represented the Portuguese org SAW since 2024. Though he performed well with the team (notably scoring first place in the A-tier ESL Challenger Katowice 2024), he is also much younger and less experienced than his 100 Thieves teammates. Community members noted his play was inconsistent during the past few months. As 100 Thieves aims to climb back into Tier 1 competition, they are likely carefully watching to identify weak points in the roster. For the org’s rapid rise to continue, they need to isolate performance variables and consistently make changes.
Roster moves are never easy, and these hit especially hard. After internal evaluation, we made the call to make changes this offseason. Both André and Jaime gave everything for this team and I have nothing but respect for them. We’re actively looking for a new home for André and are grateful for everything he brought to our team. More updates to come this week. ❤️
— Sean Gares (@seangares) June 29, 2026
Sean Gares commented on Ag1l’s move, offering support and stating 100 Thieves is “actively looking for a new home” for him. He reminded the community that “Roster moves are never easy, and these hit especially hard. After internal evaluation, we made the call to make changes this offseason. Both André and Jaime gave everything for this team and I have nothing but respect for them.”
Notably, Gares confirmed that “more updates” about 100 Thieves’ plans will arrive this week. It’s uncertain if this news will include further roster changes.
100 Thieves’ decision arrives on the same week as several other big reshuffles. Aurora Gaming’s head coach Fabre is taking a break, and Senzu has moved to BC.Game from The MongolZ.
Shortly after the organization’s decision, Ag1l took to his personal X.com account to offer a response. The Rifler stated, “Thank you for the opportunity and for all the memories.” He also acknowledged 100 Thieves’ decision with approval: “Unfortunately, something had to change.”
Thank you for the opportunity and for all the memories. Unfortunately, something had to change. It was an honor to represent @100T_CS . I wish everyone nothing but the best moving forward. ❤️

Ag1l reiterated that he had goodwill towards the org and his former teammates: “It was an honor to represent [100 Thieves]. I wish everyone nothing but the best moving forward.”
