Team Heretics Releases koshmaras, Boo is ‘Open to Offers’

After mid-season roster shuffles shook up Team Heretics’ plans, the org is releasing koshmaras and moving Boo to an inactive status. Here’s a recap of the situation and what it means for the team.

Team Heretics Boo is ‘Open to Offers’

As the VALORANT season comes to an end, Team Heretics is exiting without a Champions Shanghai qualification. The org, which won the Esports World Cup just last year and took home VCT EMEA Stage 1, is unexpectedly out of the running after a Stage 2 Play-Ins elimination.

Now, the same week VCT EMEA finishes up, it seems like TH is already making some significant changes to its core roster. Previously, the lineup featured benjyfishy, RieNs, Wo0t, Boo, and koshmaras. On September 4, Ričardas “Boo” Lukaševičius officially announced he has moved to the bench, saying “I am still contracted to Heretics and they allowed me to explore my options.”

Boo continued, stating, “I am open to offers for the next season, looking to lead in game and outside the game and doing whatever it takes to win. Open to go to any region for the right team.”

Notably, Boo has played for Team Heretics for nearly four years, almost the entire VCT circuit’s history. His potential move shakes things up for the org’s fanbase, since he has been TH’s longest-standing member.

Some of Boo’s teammates took to social media to express their support. Fellow pro benjyfishy popped up to say “thanks for everything,” including a picture of the pair hugging at a VCT event.

Team Heretics has not yet commented on Boo’s inactive status.

Team Heretics Releases koshmaras

Alongside Boo’s role change, Team Heretics has released Martynas “koshmaras” Namikas. The Duelist and Controller main has had a five-month stint on the team, originally joining in April 2026. It was a last-minute roster adjustment after former fifth ComeBack left unexpectedly. TH thanked koshmaras for filling in and sent him off with a goodbye message, saying:

“You arrived when we needed you most, and you gave everything for the team. Thanks for helping us make history and win our first VCT trophy. We’ll always be grateful for what you gave to this team. Good luck in the next chapter.”

What Does This Mean for the Team?

Team Heretics has been on an upward trajectory from 2024 to early 2026. Its roster cruised through EMEA events, consistently destroying opponents. The roster’s personality, witty trash talk, and unique members (benjyfishy is one of the only VCT players to directly transfer from Fortnite to VALORANT) won fan favor. There was one problem, though: the team tended to choke at the last second. It placed second in Masters Shanghai and Champions 2024 plus a slew of other tourneys.

TH has been attempting to streamline its roster and finally reach a first-place Champions or Masters prize. The team started this year strong, taking first place at VCT 2026 EMEA Stage 1 playoffs, which showed real promise for their lineup. Things got shaken up in the middle of Stage 1, though. Duelist Berkcan “ComeBack” Şentürk left the team, reportedly due to a language barrier that made communication with the rest of the roster difficult. In his place, koshmaras joined the roster, stepping in as a secondary duelist to support main duelist Mert “Wo0t” Alkan. It was a last-minute change that placed him in a difficult position, as fans had high expectations and he hadn’t had time to build team synergy.

After the swap, results got tougher for Heretics. Stage 2 didn’t go their way, with the team finishing 11-12th. Their other events in 2026 followed a similar pattern. Viewers saw a 7th/8th finish at Valorant Masters London and a 5th/8th result at the Esports World Cup playoffs. Despite the rough patch, koshmaras has stayed honest about his own performance, even admitting after one elimination loss that he couldn’t find his rhythm on stage. Though he has maintained a respectable reputation with fans, the org hasn’t been able to iron out its issues. Team Heretics will likely look to re-enter the scene stronger in 2027.
