The VALORANT community has been asking for new proficiency rewards lately, and Riot Games listened. In the game’s next patch, Agent Mastery will completely change and add several new features. Here’s everything to know.

VALORANT Is Resetting its Agent Mastery System

Since VALORANT’s launch, its Agent Mastery system has largely stayed stagnant. Aside from earning pistol skins, sprays, and cosmetics, the player’s Agent Mastery had very little impact on the external game, and it was difficult to flex to others.

Now, all that is changing: VALORANT Patch 13.06 is completely overhauling Agent Mastery and adding a ton of new features. Players will gain access to two different Levels tracks, new Lord icons, and a customizable Agent ID for each character. Here’s a recap of all the reworks.

When Will VALORANT Agent Mastery Get Reset?

The planned Agent Mastery change will launch on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. It’s part of VALORANT Patch 13.06, one of the last adjustments before Champions Shanghai. Afterwards, all previous Agent progress will be reset. Players will still keep any rewards they earned before the change.

Lifetime Levels vs. Act Levels in VALORANT Agent Progression

The new system will split agent progression into two separate tracks. Lifetime Levels stay permanent, tracking your total time on an agent across your entire VALORANT history. The old Agent Gear cosmetics move into the Lifetime Levels track, so players will need to log time on that specific agent to unlock those rewards. Anything already earned stays in your inventory, and Kingdom Credits still work to redeem gear going forward.

Act Levels, however, reset at the start of every act. This means players will have to enter a fresh competitive grind each Season to keep their profile up-to-date. Act Levels give a more recent and in-depth look at a player’s Agent proficiency.

VALORANT is Adding Agent Lord Icons

If you’re familiar with Lord Icons in Marvel Rivals, a similar concept is now coming to VALORANT. High Act Levels unlock a temporary Portrait Upgrade for each Agent, and this shows up during Agent Select for everyone in the lobby to see. VALORANT’s version resets each Act instead of sticking around forever. It gives skilled or dedicated players an in-game way to flex their skill on a specific Agent. Hopefully, this will also make it easier to break the common three-way ties between Reyna instalocks.

VALORANT Agent IDs

Patch 13.06 also introduces Agent IDs, a new personalization feature that lets you customize your favorite Agents. Players can equip modules like stances, backgrounds, and tracked stats. You can display your Agent ID around the game.

What Else is Coming in VALORANT Patch 13.06?

The same patch brings a new automatic rifle called the Warden, designed for stronger ADS play and longer sightlines without going full sniper. Check out our in-depth guide about the weapon here. Riot is also launching Gauntlet: Glitched, a new tournament style mode.

In addition, the VALORANT Champions 2026 skin bundle will launch. The set includes a Phantom and a fan-inspired melee knife.
