Karmine Corp League Qualifies to its First Worlds

Karmine Corp is crushing it this year, with world-level qualifications in three titles. Worlds 2026 will be KC’s next big appearance: the team just defeated GIANTX 3-1 to progress into the LEC Summer finals and secure a team slot. Here’s a recap.

Karmine Corp Qualifies to Worlds

French team Karmine Corp went into this League of Legends season hungry for victory. Just last year, they barely missed out on a Worlds qualification, placing fourth in the LEC Summer split. Since then, they’ve locked in with several key roster changes. The team brought in midlaner Kang “kyeahoo” Yea-hoo and Alan “Busio” Cwalina, who has caught attention as one of the region’s strongest supports. Plus, the coaching staff got a refresh too with the additions of Reapered and Zeph.

Despite a newfound motivation, 2026 has been a season full of close calls and heartbreak before the big payoff. KC lost the LEC Versus final to G2, then fell short again in the Spring Split final, also against G2, and later dropped the Esports World Cup grand final to LCK mainstay Dplus KIA. By the time summer rolled around, the pressure to finally break through was building fast.

Now, something has clicked. On September 5, Karmine Corp took down GIANTX 3-1 in the LEC Summer Split Playoffs, earning at mimimum a third-place spot and qualifying for Worlds 2026.

This marks the team’s first-ever World Championship in League of Legends. Canna, Yike, kyeahoo, Caliste, and Busio will head to LA and NYC to fight for the title’s highest glory.

Karmine Corp wrote about the accomplishment, “Our collective dream is to win them, and today we’ve crossed a key milestone to keep dreaming.“

What Does This Mean for the Team?

This win is a long-awaited victory for the organization, but especially for young talents Caliste and kyeahoo. This will be among their first few major international stage appearances, and it’s a chance for a get-back after MSI.

With Worlds now locked in, Karmine Corp still has a shot at the LEC Summer title too, giving their passionate fanbase in Nice a real chance to see the team lift a trophy on home turf before heading off to represent Europe on the world stage.

This year has notably been one of Karmine Corp’s most successful in the organization’s history. It has qualified for world championship-level events in each of its three titles. KC’s VALORANT and Rocket League teams are also appearing at the highest level of tournament plays.

The competition will be intense. Hanwha Life Esports, Bilibili Gaming, and Dplus Kia are among this year’s contenders. Plus, T1 is on a three-year winstreak, with a successful qualification and hopes to continue.
