For the first time ever, Marvel Rivals is hosting a live Season 9 Premiere, which reportedly includes some major reveals. Let’s explore everything to know about the event, how fans can watch, Season 9’s release date, and what may be in store for the game.

What Can Players Expect in Marvel Rivals Season 9?

Marvel Rivals Season 9 looks like a fairly hefty update beyond just new heroes. As always, a new Battle Pass is arriving as soon as the update launches. Competitive players should brace for the usual rank reset too. They can expect to drop six divisions or more, and will have to climb back up to their former status. Most Seasons also include an event, which may feature new game modes or limited-time rewards.

Season 9 Marvel Rivals Release Date

Marvel Rivals Season 9 will reportedly release on Friday, July 10, 2026. The update should roll out at 9 AM UTC. Server maintenance will occur, so players may briefly have to wait before queuing. Exact times will vary depending on the player’s region and location.

Are Jubilee and Hood Coming to Marvel Rivals? Leaks and Info

Typically, a new Marvel Rivals Season reveals at least one Hero. Before Season 9 launches, the community’s attention is locked on two names: Jubilee and The Hood.

Jubilee is one of the X-Men’s younger members. She is a mutant with plasma-based powers. Wolverine was one of her main mentors. The Hood, real name Parker Robbins, is an underdog villain who has climbed the ranks to become a crime boss. Of course, he got a little bit of help from a demonic contract (as one does), which granted him invisibility, energy manipulation, and other powers. MCU fans might recognize him from the 2025 series Ironheart.

NetEase has not confirmed that either hero is joining the Marvel Rivals roster yet. However, players have seen some significant hints pointing to them. The final Gallery Card from Season 8.5 described a man wrapped in the cloak of Oblivion alongside a firework-wielding ally hunting a cure for her son, and fans quickly connected those lines to The Hood and Jubilee.

The community thinks The Hood will be a Vanguard, protecting his team and frontlining to take important space. He would probably have cape-based and clone abilities. Jubilee is more likely to be a Strategist, using her explosive plasma powers in fights.

Notably, Marvel Rivals has added The Hood to its Marvel Rivals Infinity comic series, which adds some weight to him being a Season 8 character.

Of course, this is all based on online speculation. If the leaks are legitimate, the community is excited since neither hero is a Duelist, a role that significantly outweighs others in the roster. The heroes may launch together at the season’s start or get split across the mid-season update. Previously, NetEase revealed one hero (Devil Dinosaur) immediately when Season 8 opened, but waited to drop Cyclops until Season 8.5.

New Season 9 Skins

Marvel Rivals’ creative skins are a huge draw to the game. Earlier this month, NetEase dropped some snazzy summer swimsuit skins for some of the game’s most popular heroes. With every Season update, fans can generally expect fresh cosmetics as well.

We know the Marvel Rivals team likes releasing skins based on comic book arcs. If The Hood and Jubilee arrive in the game, they will probably get skin options right away. Jubilee is close to the X-Men in the comics, especially Wolverine and Storm, so the two may also get special attention and new skins from devs. She also had a vampire arc that played a significant role in her storyline: a vampire Jubilee skin would be a logical addition, especially with fall on the horizon. The Hood’s story arc is a bit broader, but he has a history with Loki, Dr Strange, and Captain America.

Hero Reworks and Buffs

There is less information about Season 9’s balance changes out there, but there will probably be some significant Hero reworks and buffs. The community is hoping NetEase will rework Black Widow, who has the worst win rate in the game at just 40.48%. Widow also has a pretty poor reputation, since one of the Marvel Rivals community’s biggest memes involves a player named Zazza refusing to swap off of her ‘for the vibes’ at a major tournament. The game already released a Summer Skin for her, so it’s likely she could be on the team’s radar.
