Dota 2 Patch 7.41: Facets Are Gone, and the Whole Game Feels Different
Facets are gone, Refresher no longer refreshes items, and the shop is packed with new gear. A breakdown of the biggest Dota 2 Patch 7.41 changes.
Valve dropped a 56-hero patch fourteen days before The International. Divine Rapier stacking is dead, and sixteen teams now have homework.

Valve released Dota 2 patch 7.41e alongside the pre-TI update, and the timing is the story. The International 2026 starts in two weeks in Shanghai, and sixteen qualified teams have just had their preparation rewritten by a patch that touches 56 heroes.
It carries a name as well: the Summer Scrub 2026. Valve framed the bug-fixing half of the release with unusual warmth, saying they enjoy the players who dig up absurd bugs and also enjoy fixing them.
The single change with the widest blast radius is not a hero. Divine Rapier now offers either 350 damage, or 100 damage with 25% magic amplification.
The important part is what happens when you buy a second one. The magic amplification no longer stacks. Players had been piling Rapiers onto long-range casters like Zeus and Snapfire to delete people from across the map in ultra-late games, and Valve has closed that route. Stacking for raw physical damage still works.
For a two-week TI prep window, that is the kind of change that removes an entire late-game plan rather than shifting a number.
Letter patches usually tidy up. This one does not. Valve pushed changes across 56 heroes plus meaningful item work, which is a substantial rebalance to hand teams fourteen days before the biggest event of the year.
TI 2026 will almost certainly be played on it.
The other half of the release is maintenance, and it is heavier than the name suggests. Morphling, Rubick and Meepo took the bulk of the attention, which will surprise nobody who has followed which heroes generate the strangest interactions.
Ranked players got something separate: an MMR squish for Immortal, a change the community had been asking about for a long time.
Valve published a second post alongside the patch, covering Supporter Bundles, Fantasy and Predictions. That one carries the prize pool news, including the $1.6 million base and the 30% cut that bundle sales send into it.
We have covered it separately, because it is a different story for a different reader. See our report on the TI 2026 prize pool and Supporter Bundles.
Team Falcons lifted the Aegis in Hamburg last year. They arrive in Shanghai as defending champions on a patch nobody has had time to solve, which flattens the advantage that usually comes with a settled meta.
Tier-one Dota has been in hiatus while teams prepare, so there is no serious competitive data on 7.41e and there will not be much before the group stage. Whoever reads it fastest has a genuine edge for the first few days.

The International 2026 starts from a $1.6 million base. Supporter Bundles push it higher, and 30 cents of every dollar you spend goes into the pot.
