Team Falcons DOTA 2 is Disbanding After Winning T1 2025
Team Falcons DOTA 2 just won The International a year ago, but now the roster is disbanding. Here’s everything we know.
Valve wrapped the Tidehunter Arcana in a 1-in-100,000 drop rate and a pity timer that can hand you the wrong Arcana. Here is what the Trove of Terror actually costs before you open a single chest.

Tidehunter has waited thirteen years for an Arcana. Valve finally gave him one this week, then buried it behind the harshest drop rate in the game.
The Trove of Terror drop rates put Maw of the Megalodon at 1 in 100,000 on your first chest. There is a safety net on chest fifty, which sounds reassuring until you read how it works. It can hand you the other Arcana instead.
Valve splits the treasure into three tiers. The published odds for your first chest look like this:
Both Arcanas sit in that Ultra Rare tier. Nothing else does.
Those numbers do improve as you keep going. Every chest that misses a tier nudges the odds for that tier upward, and the counter resets the moment you hit. But Valve has not published the exact steps, so nobody outside Valve knows the real rate after twenty or thirty chests.
Bad luck protection promises an Ultra Rare drop on your 50th chest if nothing has landed by then. That sounds generous. Read it again.
The guarantee covers an Ultra Rare item. It does not cover the Tidehunter Arcana. Two items share that tier, so the timer can hand you the Drow Ranger bundle instead.
Chests run to roughly five dollars each, a figure that comes from players checking the store rather than from Valve. Fifty of them lands near 235 dollars. So there is a version of this where you spend 235 dollars and the game hands you a Drow Ranger Arcana you already bought in 2021.
Fifteen Immortal sets, two Arcanas, and two rewards tied only to how many chests you open.
Twelve sets sit in the regular tier, covering Tiny, Marci, Treant Protector, Terrorblade, Oracle, Primal Beast, Ancient Apparition, Broodmother, Anti-Mage, Undying, Pudge and Death Prophet. Shadow Shaman and Nyx Assassin move up into Rare. Legion Commander sits alone in Very Rare, which makes it the hardest thing in the treasure to pull outside the two Arcanas.
Reporting suggests the Anti-Mage set arrives with a Persona, though Valve did not say so in the announcement. Treat that one as unconfirmed.
The new Arcana is a full build, not a reskin. Tidehunter gets a new model, custom animations, effects, taunts and voice lines. He also drags a corpse behind him that works as both a comfort object and a snack.
Valve teases three shark tooth styles. Only one unlocks when the Arcana drops. The other two need you to progress it, and the announcement goes out of its way to avoid saying how. Early coverage names the styles, but Valve has confirmed neither the names nor what unlocks them.
The second Ultra Rare pairs the Sepulchral Stalker set with Drow Ranger’s Dread Retribution Arcana. That Arcana first appeared in 2021 and has been out of reach since.
Players who missed it get both pieces together. What happens to people who bought it in 2021 is murkier. At least one player reports getting the set without a second Arcana, and Valve has said nothing about duplicates.
These two rewards are the only sure thing in the treasure. They ignore drop rates completely.
At roughly five dollars a chest, those two milestones work out near 60 and 200 dollars.
Both appearances show up in your own matches rather than for everyone on the server. Keep that in mind if you were budgeting toward one of them.
It depends on what you actually want. If you are after a specific Immortal set, the regular and Rare tiers pay out often enough that a handful of chests usually gives you something to show for it. The maths only turns ugly when you want one named item, and the Tidehunter Arcana is exactly that. At 1 in 100,000, with a pity timer that might give you the other one, there is no clean path. You get lucky early, or you spend until the timer fires and hope it picks right.
One thing does work in your favour. Valve announced no end date, and treasures like this usually stay in the store for a long stretch, so nothing forces a decision this week.
The honest read is that Tidehunter mains have wanted this for over a decade, and Valve knows it. The drop rate is priced to match.
The treasure is live now in the Dota 2 in-game store. Valve listed no price in the announcement, so every figure in circulation comes from players opening the store themselves.
Chests also turn up on the Steam Community Market once people start listing them. Market prices sometimes dip below the store, though they can also run higher while demand is fresh.
