Counter-Strike is known for immortalizing its best esports moments on the game’s maps. After a viral moment in IEM Cologne 2026, a new magixx easter egg has arrived. Here’s everything to know about the change and how to find it.

New Counter-Strike Magixx Easter Egg on Mirage

Counter-Strike‘s patch notes tend to be short, sweet, and to the point. However, every so often, the devs sneak a lil’ easter egg in there for fans to enjoy.

In the most recent update, players are noticing an Easter Egg referencing star Team Spirit player Boris “magixx” Vorobyev. In the recent IEM Cologne semifinals, magixx scored a crazy 1v4 round win against G2 Esports. The play helped push past a lengthy 24-22 Overtime stalemate, pushing Team Spirit further in the tournament. The org ended up placing 3rd/4th, taking home a respectable 80,000 USD prize. Though Team Falcons won, it was one of the event’s most memorable moments.

The clip, which occurred on Mirage, went viral shortly after it happened. Counter-Strike is known for memorializing its best players with grafitti and map changes (think olofmeister’s legendary defuse inside a molotov). After magixx’ win, community members asked Valve to do the same, and it appears the CS devs have listened. This is particularly significant as the devs haven’t added an esports memorial in years, and it’s the first time a player has earned a physical in-game object instead of art.

On June 1, 2026, Valve quietly added several tiny tomato sauce jars strewn across a room. The jars have smiling tomatoes on the label and a ‘Magic’ brand name. They reference the ‘Secret Sauce’ that goes into magixx’s skill, and there are four in total to represent his 4v1.

AK Headshot Issues?

There are a couple of key features to the tomato sauce jars. Notably, players can destroy them from the in-game environment. However, some community members have complained that the jars actually block their line of sight during important moments. One of the jars also rests at headshot level, reportedly preventing otherwise guaranteed AK one-taps. This creates a significant competitive disadvantage, so netizens are waiting to see if Valve adjusts the locations.

Team Spirit Reacts to the Magixx Easter Egg

Team Spirit was quick to notice the change, writing on X.com, “You forgot to mention THIS in the patch note.” Counter-Strike’s official account responded, saying they “Wanted it to be a surprise!”

It seems magixx was also excited about the change, as he posted a picture of the sauce captioned “Aura”.

Players can find the Magixx tomato sauce jar on the game’s Mirage map. It’s located in Market, a room right outside B-site’s plant area. There are actually several Magixx tomato sauce jars, and they’re all on the diagonal wall in the middle of the room. The jars are scattered on different levels of the shelves.

The Esports Impact

Team Spirit has a long Counter-Strike legacy. In recent years, the org is known for young prodigies like donk, who began his competitive career at just 14 years old. sh1ro is also a powerhouse on the AWP, striking down enemies with patience and tactical precision. magixx’s easter egg adds to the roster’s notoriety.

Russia is an extremely present Counter-Strike region. The game is especially popular in the country. Alongside Virtus.pro, Team Spirit is considered a home team, bringing in plenty of views from the Russian CS fanbase and holding a sizable spot in the market.
