Overwatch is known for its music collaborations. After LE SSERAFIM in 2023, the game’s next featured band is Japanese duo YOASOBI. Let’s explore everything to know about the new collab skins, their release date, and how players can purchase.

Overwatch Announces YOASOBI Collab

Japanese music duo YOASOBI has skyrocketed in popularity in the past few years. The group has two members: producer Ayase and vocalist ikura. It is a concept project that turns short stories into narrative songs. Some veteran fans may know them for the 2019 drop “Yoru ni Kakeru” in 2019. However, they first gained international repute after “Idol” became the opening theme for the anime Oshi no Ko. The band has an energetic style with some hyperpop influences.

On June 29, 2026, the official Overwatch YouTube channel released a gameplay trailer for the upcoming Overwatch x YOASOBI collab. The set has “brand new cosmetics inspired by YOASOBI’s music and visual storytelling.” The video is set to the band’s single ‘Orion’, and also features Overwatch’s newest hero, Shion.

What’s in the New Overwatch Collab?

The Overwatch x YOASOBI collab will include skins for the following heroes:

  • Fox Star Kiriko
  • Dragon Star Hanzo
  • Dragon Star Genji
  • Spirit Star Mizuki
  • Space Star Juno
  • Fire Star Anran

Interestingly, many of these are newer Overwatch characters. The energetic, modern style in the YOASOBI skins will probably appeal to a new generation of players and add to the Heroes’ smaller skin pools. Hanzo, Kiriko, Genji, and Mizuki also all hail from YOASOBI’s home country, Japan.

In addition, players can expect “dance emotes, sprays, and more through the YOASOBI Mega Bundle.”

We don’t know yet how much the skins will cost. Since they are part of a limited-edition release, they will probably be premium content and cost real-world money. Notably, players can opt to purchase specific skins and items out of the bundle if they want to save money. You don’t need to purchase the entire set at once.

Overwatch YOASOBI Skins Release Date

The new Overwatch collab will reportedly launch in an update on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. The skins will be limited edition, so they will probably stay in the in-game shop for several weeks or months before rotating out.

How to Buy the New Overwatch Skins

There are two ways to buy an Overwatch skin starting from the Main Menu. First, head over to the Hero Gallery or the in-game Shop, depending on what kind of skin you’re after. The Shop rotates its selection regularly and features premium skins you can purchase directly using Overwatch Coins, which is the game’s premium currency. The new YOASOBI skins will probably show up here in a feature banner. You can buy Overwatch Coins with real money through the in-game store, and they come in various bundle sizes depending on how much you want to spend.

Once you have your coins, just find the skin you want, click on it, and confirm the purchase. If the skin you’re looking for isn’t in the rotating shop, it might be tied to a specific event or a battle pass, either as a free reward for leveling up or as a premium tier unlock. Some older skins also show up in the Hero Gallery and can occasionally be purchased when they cycle back into availability. It’s worth keeping an eye on the shop regularly since the selection changes pretty frequently, and limited-edition skins can disappear before you get a chance to grab them.
