An unexpected celebrity has joined the Marvel Rivals conversation: rapper Sexyy Red has revealed she plays the game and directly asked devs for some changes. Here’s a look at her requests, and a recap of the context.
Sexyy Red Plays Marvel Rivals:
St. Louis rapper Sexyy Red, real name Janae Wherry, has climbed the charts with trap beats and confident flow. She broke into the mainstream with songs like ‘Get It Sexyy’ and now has over 17.5 million monthly Spotify listeners. Recently, she has collaborated with artists including Tyler, the Creator, GloRilla, and Drake.
One of Sexyy Red’s songs asks, ‘WATCHU KNO ABOUT ME?’ As it turns out, we learn something new every day: X users spotted Sexyy replying to the official Marvel Rivals account, revealing she does indeed play the game and asking the devs for some changes.
Sexyy Red Says: “Give Storm Her Legendary Skin”
On October 16, Sexyy Red replied to an official post from Marvel Rivals. The game had just released a major speech moderation update, increasing penalties for toxic communication and harassment.
For a more in-depth look at the update, check out our article here. Marvel Rivals experienced controversy in recent months after it removed several hate speech reporting options, leading to increased in-game toxicity. Several content creators’ clips went viral, opening up conversation about racism in the game.
This reawakened a previous conversation about Storm. Despite being one of Marvel Rivals’ most popular duelists for a long while and having times when she dominated the meta, Storm received almost no skins for most of the game’s lifespan. She finally got a swimsuit skin in summer 2026, but the community said the execution was subpar and rallied around her for better design. NetEase eventually responded by offering a free upgrade to the cosmetic with significant improvements, but the discourse stayed in fans’ minds.
Now, Sexyy Redd has asked: “When y’all gon give Storm her legendary skin?”
The post quickly went viral. It has over 15,000 likes, and nearly 500,000 views.

One poster said, “lmao never expected to read no sh– like this from her lol.” Another wrote, “never in a million years would I think I would see a tweet like this from sexyy red.”
“Am I tripping rn?” some comments asked.
Sexyy’s haters and fans alike offered support. @User_no9 admitted, “You know, normally I hate everything you touch but aye man you speaking the truth.” @UltronForever said “I had to do a double take because…she’s right.”
