Marvel Rivals is soaring through Season 9, and a fresh patch will deliver several highly-anticipated updates. Here’s a quick recap of everything to expect before it goes live.
These Marvel Rivals Patch Notes mostly focus on UI features, fresh cosmetics, and a new map (Thebes). There are a few bug fixes as well, but nothing too major. The game is also dropping a fresh Blood Hunt event, and esports fans can get excited for a new Twitch Drop with free loot. Let’s dive into a full summary!
Marvel Rivals teased its new map earlier this month, but now, it’s finally arriving. Thebes is a Convoy map that takes players into an ancient Egyptian setting. It mixes crumbling temples with high-tech flair. The battleground includes a section with desert dunes, luxurious tomb-like chambers, the Temple of Khonshu, and the Pyramid of Apocalypse. Players will escort a payload across the map to its destination to win. Thebes will go live immediately after the update.

The Blood Hunt Event, where players vanquish vampires to get free items, will see some upgrades in the July 23 Patch. It has also been extended until mid-October, so it will get players in the Halloween spirit.
Marvel Rivals is integrating its esports circuit into the game even further with an esports subscription option. Don’t worry, this is not a paid subscription. It just means that players can pick and subscribe to their favorite teams, players, and tournaments to follow them. This prompts notifications whenever a relevant event goes live.
The game is also adding a built-in calendar, so it’s easy to track tournament dates and plan watch time around that. You can access the Subscription feature through the game’s existing Esports tab.
Hela is stepping out in style with a new Consort of Khonshu skin. This cosmetic follows the current Season’s Egypt-inspired theme. Hela wears a linen two-piece with gold jewelry and strappy sandals. She also has a feathery headdress and large wings.
The Mistress of Darkness strikes again. 🖤 “The scent of death usually brings me comfort. Yet this time… I find no joy in it.” Channel the queen of the dead with Hela’s Consort of Khonshu costume, appearing for the first time in Marvel Rivals Season 9! Available: July 23 at 7 PM PT! Mercy is for the weak, feed into your hunger.
