Join us Dec 11-13 for the ultimate community experience in Las Vegas! The biggest TFT celebration of the year is back, and it’s going to be bigger than ever. Over the past three years, the Open has truly grown into a global celebration of Teamfight Tactics, bringing together players and fans from around the world to compete, connect, and share their passion for the game. What began as an opportunity for the community to come together in person has evolved into something truly special, shaped by the players, creators, cosplayers, and fans who show up year after year. Along this journey, another community began to grow alongside it: Riftbound. We first debuted Riftbound at the TFT Macao Open two years ago, where players lined up for hours just to try the very first trial decks. Since then, the game has expanded through multiple sets and even joined us at the TFT Paris Open last year. Today, the excitement surrounding both communities only continues to grow, making this the perfect time to bring you Convergence Fest – a shared experience to celebrate both TFT AND Riftbound. This combined celebration will highlight activities across both strategy game titles, including the open-bracket TFT Vegas Open and the North American Riftbound Regional Championship! The combination may seem unexpected, but the two games share some key similarities. Teamfight Tactics, though an auto-battler, has some card-based mechanics. League of Legends-inspired Riftbound is a physical TCG, featuring the Runeterra universe’s most popular Champions and items.
Riftbound has found massive success since its 2025 launch. It appeals to a wide market, since some League and TFT players like to collect the cards even outside participating in tournaments. Riot Games has also found ways to connect the franchise to League and TFT esports teams: for example, it recently released a set to celebrate South Korean team T1’s victory at Worlds 2025.
As Riftbound’s set releases expand, its player base has grown as well. Teamfight Tactics tournaments have provided a crucial testing ground for Riftbound’s development. Riot Games’ article about Convergence Fest notes: “We first debuted Riftbound at the TFT Macao Open two years ago, where players lined up for hours just to try the very first trial decks. Since then, the game has expanded through multiple sets and even joined us at the TFT Paris Open last year.”
Convergence Fest will occur in Las Vegas, Nevada, a city known for all kinds of games and high-stakes plays. The event takes place between Friday, December 11 and Sunday, December 13.
So, what exactly will happen? Teamfight Tactics’ official X.com account says fans can expect a “mega weekend […] jam-packed with experiences and activities! As an attendee, you’ll be able to bounce between high-stakes matches, rip Riftbound packs, catch live panels, meet up with the community, and check out Artist Alley.” There are also reportedly chances “to play TFT and Riftbound throughout the weekend,” card trading opportunities, and cosplay events. Plus, attendees can grab limited edition merch, like Teemo hats and custom Riftbound cards.
Convergence Fest features the TFT Vegas Open. This is an S-Tier tournament with a sizable 100,000 USD prize for its first-place player. The winner will lift the Tactician’s Belt, TFT’s most prestigious trophy. Previously, Chinese player Ge “Huanmie” Wuxin emerged victorious from the December 2025 Paris Open.
The Riftbound NA Regional Championship will distinguish the TCG’s strongest North American players. This is a physical card game, so it’s not technically an esports tournament. However, Riftbound takes place in League of Legends and TFT’s Runeterra universe.
Registration is a Fan First process, which Riot Games describes as: “a new sign-up process designed to help attendees secure their opportunity to purchase passes. By registering through Fan First, TFT and Riftbound players will have the chance to enter the earliest wave of sale windows and purchase their pass ahead of the general sale.”
Community members can pre-register at convergencefest.riotgames.com. To do so, you’ll need to verify your email and wait for a confirmation. It’s important to note that pre-sales for registered fans won’t start until August.
