A Five Nights at Freddy’s Collab is Coming to Fortnite

Every October, Fortnite brings a spooky twist to the game with Fortnitemares, its Halloween event. Epic Games transforms the map with decorations, adds horror-inspired skins, and introduces limited time game modes built around the season’s scares. Players can grab exclusive cosmetics and take on special challenges during the event’s run. It’s become one of the most anticipated seasonal events, and Epic Games has just announced this year’s theme.

On September 27, Fortnite revealed its Fortnitemares 2026 launch will include a Five Nights at Freddy’s collab. The game, released in 2014 by developer Scott Cawthon, has become a cult classic in the horror sphere. In addition, FNAF has made its way into mainstream pop culture. It’s common to see characters like Golden Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Purple Guy in memes and videos.

The franchise has been rapidly expanding. First, there was a movie premiere in 2023. Next, the team announced a real-life Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria would be opening in New Jersey in 2027. Now, it seems like we’ll finally get Fortnite skins.

Fortnite captioned the reveal: “It’s almost showtime! The Fazbear Band has taken over Battle Royale. Face the animatronic animal bosses and survive the night… if you can.”

The Fortnite FNAF collab has been highly requested by fans for a while. When Chapter 7 Season 4 Override first started, players got excited about a ‘SurviveTheNight’ lobby hack leak that seemed to reference the game. However, Epic confirmed it actually referred to 99 Nights in the Forest, another survival horror classic. Override collabed with plenty of classic game franchises to support its theme (like Sonic, Persona 5, and Tetris), but FNAF stayed on everyone’s minds.

What’s In the Fortnite x FNAF Collab?

So far, we’ve seen in the video that Fortnite x FNAF includes several skins, accessories, and possibly a jam track. All of the skins seem to have a Withered variant. Here’s a quick list of everything fans can probably expect:

In addition, reputable leaker and Epic Games partner @HYPEX claims there will probably be some in-game events where players can turn into FNAF characters, monitor the security cameras, and experience jumpscares. Perhaps there could be a Five Nights at Freddy’s gamemode on the way, especially since it’s already a common theme for custom games.

Fortnite Five Nights at Freddy’s Collab Release Date

Epic Games says the Fortnite x FNAF collaboration will release on Thursday, October 1, 2026. This means it launches as part of Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, but it’s also right on time for Fortnitemares and the Halloween season.
