A while earlier, Fortnite made the decision to extend its current LEGO Pass and Music Pass. After community response, Epic has now reversed that call. The team will instead release two completely new passes, but they will be shorter with less content. Let’s recap everything players should know and when the new passes come out.

Why Did Epic Extend the Fortnite LEGO Pass and Music Pass?

The first Fortnite pass extension arrived in August, when Epic moved the end of the Soaring Skies LEGO Pass from September 2 to October 31. Epic did not explain why, and reports at the time said no reason had been confirmed.

Then, on October 29, the pass recieved a second extension. It delayed the LEGO Pass to align with the Chapter 8 launch. In addition, it pushed the Music Pass back as well, just three days before new passes were due.

Community Backlash: Why Fortnite Crew Players Were Upset

Fans had complained about Fortnite’s pass extensions. Many brought up concerns that longer passes made Fortnite Crew subscriptions less valuable, since players got less content for the same price. For 11.99 USD monthly, the offer advertises “full access to the Battle Pass, OG Pass, LEGO Pass, and Music Pass [plus] special items and 800 V-Bucks.”

The LEGO pass in particular had run for ages without an update. As of October 29, it had been nearly eight months since players got any new content.

Fortnite Cancels the Pass Extension

On October 31, Fortnite’s official status account posted a quick update on the situation. Epic admitted “extending the LEGO and Music Passes wasn’t the right move.” In addition, the studio revealed new passes for both modes are on the way soon.

The team did caution that both passes will be smaller (about as big as the Treasure Hunters Battle Pass), so they can get them out sooner. In addition, they’ll have lower prices to reflect that. Fortnite Crew members will not receive refunds for previous purchases during the extensions.

This change is temporary. Epic says full-size passes will return later, with new ones arriving more often.

Epic has not shared the full reward lists, skins, or themes yet, so anything could happen.

New Fortnite LEGO Pass and Music Pass: Release Dates

According to Epic’s announcement, the new passes will arrive in Winter 2026:

  • Next Fortnite LEGO Pass: December 5
  • Next Fortnite Music Pass: November 12

The LEGO Pass will reportedly arrive alongside a major update to the mode overall, making it more replayable.
