BLAST Slam VII brings $1 million of Dota 2 action to Copenhagen, with the group stage schedule now revealed. Twelve teams will battle across an online group stage before the bracket moves to the BLAST Studios in Denmark for the LAN playoffs. Running from May 26 to June 7, 2026, the seventh edition of BLAST Slam lands right after DreamLeague Season 29 wraps, giving the world’s best teams almost no breathing room between two million-dollar events.
The tournament carries real weight in the race toward the Esports World Cup 2026. With the calendar tightening before the summer’s biggest events, BLAST Slam VII is one of the last major chances for teams to build momentum and secure ranking points.
The tournament splits into two distinct phases. The online group stage runs across four days from May 26 to 29, with a total of 66 games played in a rolling Best-of-1 format. That single-map structure means upsets are always one bad draft away, putting pressure on favourites from the very first match.
After the group stage, teams that finish on the bubble get a second chance. The Last Chance Qualifiers take place on May 30, where group placements five through ten fight for the final playoff spots through two semi-final and final brackets.
The LAN Playoff Stage then begins June 4 at the BLAST Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark, running as a Best-of-3 double-elimination bracket. The Grand Final takes place June 7, with a notable detail for viewers: there’s a 25-minute extended break scheduled between Map 3 and Map 4 during the Grand Final. The full match schedule is available on the official BLAST Slam VII page.
BLAST Slam VII features a strong field of established Dota 2 organisations:
The lineup overlaps heavily with DreamLeague Season 29, which means many of these teams go almost straight from one $1 million event into another. Form carried over from DreamLeague could prove decisive in Copenhagen.

Team Liquid arrive as the reigning BLAST Slam VI champions after winning the Malta edition. Their title defence opens against Xtreme Gaming on day one, a rematch that carries extra weight given Xtreme Gaming eliminated Liquid from DreamLeague Season 29 just days earlier. The Copenhagen rematch gives Liquid an immediate shot at revenge.
The group stage opens with Team Falcons facing GLYPH and PARIVISION taking on OG, setting the tone for four days of dense Best-of-1 action.
A few storylines stand out heading into BLAST Slam VII.
PARIVISION carry momentum after a strong DreamLeague Season 29 run, where they topped Group B and knocked Team Liquid into the lower bracket. Their slow-paced, late-game style has been working, and Copenhagen offers a chance to prove it translates to the Best-of-1 group format.
Tundra Esports arrive under a cloud after their disastrous DreamLeague run and reports they may leave Dota 2 entirely. BLAST Slam VII could be one of the roster’s final tournaments together, which adds an emotional edge to their matches.
The ex-HEROIC roster continues competing after their organisation departed Dota 2, and they’ll look to build on a year of consistent top-six finishes despite the instability around them.
Hosting the LAN playoffs at the BLAST Studios in Copenhagen puts the tournament in BLAST’s home city. BLAST has built a reputation for high-production events across both Counter-Strike and Dota 2, and bringing Slam VII to Denmark continues that approach. For Nordic Dota 2 fans, a tier-1 event on home soil is a rare treat.
The timing also matters competitively. BLAST Slam VII sits right before the run toward The International 2026 and the Esports World Cup, making it valuable preparation as teams refine drafts and strategies on the current patch.
