Team Spirit CS2 in-game leader Leonid “chopper” Vishnyakov officially leaves the organization as his contract expires, ending a run that took the team from a mid-tier regional side to Major champions.
On November 6, 2026, Team Spirit confirmed that it has officially split with Leonid “chopper” Vishnyakov. In its announcement, the organisation credited him with guiding the team to a world title, victories at IEM Cologne 2025 and IEM Katowice, and numerous other trophies, securing Team Spirit’s place in competitive Counter Strike history.
Following chopper’s departure, the active Team Spirit Counter-Strike 2 lineup features a rebuilt core with Boris “magixx” Vorobyev stepping up as the In-Game Leader (IGL) alongside their new addition from late 2025, Andrey “tN1R” Tatarinovich. As a result, the current starting Team Spirit Counter-Strike 2 roster includes donk, sh1ro, magixx, zont1x, and tN1R, with hally serving as the head coach.
The split follows chopper’s December 2025 benching, which removed him from most competition. Then, the contract simply ran its natural course. After a strong run that included IEM Cologne 2025, Spirit’s results turned uneven, and the team struggled at the StarLadder Budapest Major. Many reports pointed to a mix of falling team and individual form, fatigue from years of leading the at the top level, and a push to refresh the roster so the organization could keep stars like donk and chase better results.
Chopper himself accepted the decision as a “logical conclusion,” saying personal and professional difficulties had hurt his form and motivation in 2025. He later said he was burned out from professional play. Because Spirit kept him under contract on the bench rather than releasing him early, the two sides officially parted only when that deal expired in November 2026.
Chopper is now a free agent, but he is not expected to look for a place on any professional roster. The next step appears to be retirement from pro play instead. His recent statements point to enjoying streaming, playing on FACEIT with friends and working with the community. However, he has left open the possibility of coaching at some point in the future.
