BLAST Open Porto Attendee Guide: Bracket, Schedule and What You Cannot Bring In

Six teams are left at BLAST Open Porto and the arena weekend runs 4 to 6 September at the Super Bock Arena. Ten teams went home from the group stage in Copenhagen, and the ones still standing are Spirit, MOUZ, Falcons, G2, FURIA and Vitality. If you have a ticket, here is the practical version of what you need before you get to the gate.

The bracket

Spirit and MOUZ won their groups and skipped the quarter-finals entirely, which is why the weekend only needs five matches.

• Friday, quarter-finals: Falcons vs G2, then FURIA vs Vitality
• Saturday, semi-finals: Spirit against the Falcons and G2 winner, MOUZ against the FURIA and Vitality winner
• Sunday: Grand Final

Everything is best-of-three until Sunday, when the final goes to five maps. Plan the last day around a series that can run long.

Schedule and door times

The day structure is the same on all three days. Doors at 13:45, show start at 14:30, first match at 15:00, second match in the evening. All times are local Porto time, which is one hour behind Denmark.

One thing worth double checking on the day: BLAST lists the evening series at 19:00 in its own attendee guide, while several match trackers have it at 18:30. Different sources have already disagreed about start times at this event, so trust the arena screens and BLAST’s socials over anything else.

Getting to the Super Bock Arena

The arena sits inside the Crystal Palace Gardens on Rua de Dom Manuel II, close to the middle of Porto. From Aliados or São Bento it is a walk of roughly 20 to 25 minutes, most of it downhill on the way there and less fun on the way back.

BLAST recommends public transport, which is the right call on a match day. There is underground parking at the venue with 453 spaces, but 453 spaces against an arena crowd is a lottery rather than a plan. Routes, timetables and parking rates are on the Super Bock Arena travel page.

Re-entry is allowed all weekend, so you can leave for food between the afternoon and evening series without losing your spot.

Red carpet, merch and meet and greets

Players walk in on a red carpet at Gate 03, usually about 90 minutes before doors open. That puts it near 12:15 if you want to be there for it, but arrival times move around, so watch BLAST Premier’s social channels on the day instead of trusting a fixed number.

There are no public meet and greets at this event. If your ticket package includes one, BLAST contacts you by email, so check your inbox before you start queueing for something that is not happening.

What you cannot bring into the arena

Security is where most people lose something they liked. Leave the following behind:

• Weapons of any kind: firearms, throwing weapons, knives and blades
• Glass and containers: bottles, cans, glass cups
• Poles and tubes: rigid flag poles, umbrellas, drums and other instruments
• Explosives: fireworks and pyrotechnics
• Outside food and drink: all of it, with no exceptions listed
• Professional recording equipment: your phone is fine, your camera rig is not

Anything else that could put other spectators at risk falls under the same rule, and the call at the gate is final.

There is $1.1 million in play across the event, with $250,000 of it going to the winner once the player prize and club share are added together. Porto has hosted BLAST events in Portugal before, but never in this city, so nobody quite knows what the Super Bock Arena sounds like when a Vitality comeback lands. Bring a jacket for the walk back through the gardens.
