S0M Creates Streamer Team for VCT 2027 Kickoff Open Qualifiers

As VCT 2027 brings teams into a new era, surprise competitors are emerging. S0M has assembled a streamer superteam for the Kickoff Open Qualifier, with florescent, Subroza, FNS, and more players on the lineup. Let’s recap who’s playing and how fans can watch.

S0M Announces VCT 2027 Open Qualifiers Team

In VCT 2027, Riot Games is shifting to a new qualification format. The studio is reevaluating its partnered teams, marking the end of the franchised era. At the same time, it’s launching new Open Qualifier events, opening up the circuit to new talent.

The changes have been widely controversial, with several teams stepping away from the VALORANT scene as a result. Evil Geniuses, KIWOOM DRX, LYON, and MIBR are a few who have announced departures. However, some independent teams are also taking the opportunity to fill their spots: streamer and former pro S0M is assembling a content creator superteam, and they plan to enter the VCT 2027 Kickoff Qualifiers.

S0M originally teased the move on October 15, replying to the VCT 2027 schedule announcement with ‘Bet.’ Now, he’s revealed the full team roster, also noting that they’ll stream the event live.

Notably, S0M played on NRG for five years and was on the VALORANT Champions 2025 winning roster. He is one of the scene’s strongest Controller players, particularly known for his Omen plays. After moving to an inactive status, S0M streams on Twitch regularly with 1.3 million followers.

florescent gained repute for her Game Changers performance on Shopify Rebellion, where she dominated the 2023-2024 season. She later became the first Game Changers player to directly transfer to Tier 1 VCT, joining Apeks.

Marved is another familiar face in the NA VALORANT scene. He spent time on FaZe Clan, OpTic, Envy, Sentinels, and NRG. With OpTic, Marved placed second in VALORANT Champions 2022 and won Masters Reykjavík 2022. FNS was another member of that same Masters Reykjavík roster, with extensive VCT experience.

Shanks, who streams for G2, has over 650,000 Twitch followers. His main esports experience comes from the VCT NA Challengers circuit, but he also participates regularly in streamer tournaments.

Subroza represented TSM for three years and has over 1.1 million Twitch followers. VALORANT players will recognize him from his iconic in-game callout, a ratty spot under Catwalk in Ascent mid.
