What is Fortnite Recap? New Look at the Website Joining the ‘Wrapped’ Trend

A Fortnite Recap website is reportedly arriving soon, and an Epic Games partner just got access to the WIP site. Here’s everything we know so far about the platform.
Fortnite is Launching a Recap Website
The Fortnite community has been abuzz since rumors started swirling about a ‘Fortnite Recap’ website. The project will jump onto the ongoing ‘Wrapped’ trend, where apps and games send out a yearly summary of the user’s activity. Participants can share their summaries with each other, bringing new opportunities to flex and showcase your unique personality. Music platform Spotify was the first to kick this off, launching the now iconic Spotify Wrapped feature in 2015.
Epic Games partner @HYPEX managed to get access to the work-in-progress version of the site. They found a homepage, which shows the past season and says:
“You dropped in, you fought hard, and you proved yourself. Check out your latest Season stats in Fortnite: Recapped!”
Fortnite has dropped short recap videos for players before, but it looks like this will be a more in-depth experience.
Players have also had other options to track their stats with third-party websites. It’s possible Epic Games may be competing with these platforms to try and centralize player involvement.
What’s Included in Fortnite Recap?
The site includes an option to share your recap or save it locally. The first few stats players can see pop up include hours played, matches played, XP points earned, eliminations, and quests completed. Each achievement shows an exact number, plus a percentile showing which share of players your status falls under.
Favorite Game Modes
There’s also a ‘Favorite Game Genre’ section. Fortnite has a ton of different modes to try out, like Festival, Battle Royale, and Custom games. It’s a major part of the game’s appeal. Some players will spend their entire experience in just one format, while others will hop between different options.
‘Favorite Game Genre’ will display the top three modes you’ve played this Season, with your hours played and number of matches played for each. Every experience has a different logo, and the caption is “you made your mark across multiple genres this season – here’s what you played the most.”
Fortnite Sprite Stats
Another portion of the experience showcases Sprite stats. A relatively recent addition, these little buddies follow players around on the map and grant them special abilities. Players have to extract them by finding them in-game and then going to an Extraction Site or using a Portable Extractor. After doing so, they can add the specific sprite to their permanent collection.
Fortnite Recap will reportedly keep a list of your top 3 most extracted sprites. You can also see an exact number of how many times you’ve extracted them.
There are probably a ton of additional features in Fortnite Recap, but the mode is still “unfinished,” so it’ll be a bit of time until we see them all. HYPEX listed a few more categories we didn’t see in the WIP site:
- Quests completed
- XP Earned
- Eliminations and top % rankings
Some players are hoping Epic Games will add features to track things like most-used skins. Others want ongoing trackers they can access at any time. HYPEX noted in an X.com reply, “I’m guessing they’ll update it each season with new stuff, but yeah, they should definitely add more to it.”
When is the Fortnite Recap Website Dropping?
On August 10, HYPEX claimed the Fortnite Recap project would launch “very soon.” On August 11, they said it would drop “in a few days.” Leaks have been spreading about the effort since August 3, so it’s been in the works for at least a few weeks.
