One of Marvel Rivals’ most iconic Duelists, Scarlet Witch, is getting a full ability rework in Season 10. The changes will make her more survivable, improve her ability to deal damage across teams, and majorly buff her ultimate. Here’s everything players should know.
Marvel Rivals is set to wrap up Season 9.5 and roll into Season 10 soon, closing out Season 9: The Mystery of Thebes after a run of roughly nine weeks. The transition brings the game’s 54th playable hero to the roster (with Gorr and Nightcrawler on the horizon). Along with fresh characters, players can expect a full competitive rank reset. A new Battle Pass, balance changes, and additional content are also on the way. This phase’s theme is ‘Butcher’s Blasphemy.’
One of the most significant balance changes coming in Season 10 is a big Scarlet Witch rework, which will change up almost everything about how the character works. Traditionally, she’s been extremely easy to play, but difficult to push to her full potential in high MMR lobbies. In a new Dev Vision video, we got an in-depth explainer into Scarlet’s brand-new kit.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen major changes to a hero: there was also a big Black Widow rework earlier this year to make her more competitive in the current meta. At first, the switch-up had mixed reactions, but now it’s settled in well to the game.
GuangGuang and Zhiyong called the Scarlet Witch update a “substantial overhaul.” Mainly, these include overhealth/lifesteal dynamics that make her more self-sustainable in fights. Her primary fire can now attack multiple players, making her stronger in teamfights. Specifically, the team said:
“Through these changes, we hope to strengthen Scarlet Witch’s proactive offensive capabilities, boost her survivability in duels, and make her Ultimate a significantly bigger threat.”

A new passive will make Scarlet’s core gameplay more menacing and add new layers of strategy. The Chaos Mark motivates her to hit and damage as many enemies as possible, instead of just hunting down one at a time and going in for the kill.

The devs are adding a new AOE ability to Scarlet’s kit. This will make it easier to combo with her primary fire. Scarlet can enter a fight, blast multiple enemies with the Hex, and quickly improve her damage potential.

Scarlet Witch’s Ultimate was previously pretty slow to detonate. It didn’t deal any damage during the charge phase, and it was easy to kill her or pop a shield to prevent it. Now, the Ultimate has much more power and will be scarier in fights.
All of the upcoming Scarlet Witch changes will go into effect as soon as Season 10 rolls out. Marvel Rivals Season 10 releases on September 11, 2026. Its update should go live at around 9 AM UTC.
