What Happened to PZ ZZANG? Yasuo Pro Retires from League

PZ ZZANG, one of the League community’s most well-known Yasuo mains, is quitting YouTube and retiring from the game. Here’s everything we know about the decision.

PZ ZZANG is Officially Retiring From League of Legends

With over 500,000 total YouTube subscribers (on his English and Korean channels), PZ ZZANG is one of League’s most popular content creators. He’s specifically well-known in the Yasuo main community, and is widely regarded among the Champion’s strongest players. PZ ZZANG has reached Challenger and hit Rank 1 on the character (in Korea servers, no less). He has also played with esports icons like T1 star Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-Hyeok and Gen.G Jeon “Chovy” Ji-Hoon. He has streamed and created content for nearly a decade, cementing his place in the game’s lore.

On August 14, 2026, PZ ZZANG officially posted what appears to be his last YouTube video. The Yasuo pro titled it, ‘The last video of a man who played Yasuo.’

Right off the bat, PZ ZZANG explained the reasons behind his decision. It looks like he is quitting League of Legends entirely and will not return in the near future.

“I am quitting League of Legends and YouTube,” he said. “I know this is sudden. I am sorry about that. The main reason I am stopping League is that I lost passion for the game a long time ago.”

Why is PZ ZZANG Leaving YouTube and Retiring?

PZ ZZANG admitted, “I cared too much about my rank. This made me very stressed. I think the stress slowly built up, and I got tired.” He lamented that he could no longer play the game for fun, and was now only hopping on League out of a sense of responsibility, because he feels he has to.

“I do not think I was ever meant for streaming or YouTube. I was just good at a game, and this happened by itself.”

The pro revealed he has been considering retirement for a while, saying, “I started to ask myself if this is what I really love. Since then, I kept wondering if I should keep going. […] This decision did not happen suddenly. I have been thinking about it for years.” His fans were the main thing that kept him active, and he thanked his viewers for sticking around.

Will He Come Back?

In his time off, PZ ZZANG will rest. In addition, he will ready himself for South Korea’s mandatory military service. “I do not know if I will come back to YouTube after the military,” he says. “Maybe I will miss League later, but do not wait for me.”

“I got so much love for nine years. This was not a short period of time. Thank you so much, everyone.”
