Have you ever wished you could pick up a rare Overwatch skin you missed out on? With a bit of luck, that dream could become a reality. Maximilien’s Vault is returning to the game, and this limited-time ‘Night Market’ brings personalized skins to players at a discount. Here’s everything to know.
Maximilien’s Vault is one of the Overwatch community’s favorite limited-time events. This shop feature gives players personalized discounts on hero skins and other cosmetics. It first showed up during Overwatch’s Season 14 and takes its name and theme from Maximilien, an Omnic robot with a snazzy outfit who is tied to the Talon storyline.
Instead of a random loot pool, the Vault builds a small set of offers based on your own account activity. Things like your login history, which heroes you play most, and what you already own in your collection factor into the items you receive. This means you’ll probably get skin offers for your favorite characters, or Heroes that have high playtime.
(If privacy is a concern, there’s an option to turn off the personalization. Players can disable these personalized recommendations through their privacy settings.)
Blizzard doesn’t usually announce when Maximilien’s Vault arrives. It tends to be a surprise. It’s most common for the shop to pop up on Fridays, but sometimes it arrives mid-week. This means players have to keep checking their games so they can catch it before it disappears.
When the Maximilien’s Vault event opens, players usually find five cards waiting in the shop. Each card hides a skin, which you can then choose to purchase. Usually, these are Epic or Legendary tier items. They’ll be rarer than what you can typically find in the shop and may be from limited-time sales in the past.
All Maximilien’s Vault skins have a discount that can range anywhere from around 15% up to 60% off. The idea is to help players grab skins for heroes they actually use, so they don’t have to keep spamming a loot box until it eventually hands them the right one.

It’s important to note that sometimes the recommendations can be faulty: some players report receiving skins for Heroes they haven’t played much, or items that don’t make sense for their roles. However, things have improved since launch, and are generally more accurate these days.
The whole process is very similar to VALORANT‘s Night Market, so if you’ve participated before it should be familiar to you.
As of August 28, 2026, Maximilien’s Vault is back in Overwatch! The mysterious shop will stay open for a short period, between 3 and 7 days. That means you’ll have the weekend to grab offered items, at least until Monday, August 31.
Here, you’ll enter the Maximilien’s Vault event. All your goodies are waiting for you, and now you just have to open them.
