Overwatch has just finished up another community-made skin contest. After players from each region submitted their designs, netizens and judges voted for their favorites. We got adorable new options for Jetpack Cat, a fresh Mizuki look, and more The winning skins will actually arrive in the game soon, and there are some pretty cool contenders.

Let’s explore every design and recap which entries Blizzard disqualified for AI use and stolen artwork.

Which Heroes Won the 2026 Overwatch Skin Contest?

There were five winning entries for the 2026 Overwatch skin contest. These included skins for Wrecking Ball, Shion, Mizuki, Doomfist, D.Va, Jetpack Cat, Domina, and Ana.

The contest only ran in China. Some of these skins will be region exclusives, but others will debut in Overwatch worldwide, so keep an eye on the shop in upcoming months.

Notably, several applicants for Juno, Domina, and Junker Queen got disqualified due to AI use, which broke the contest’s rules.

The main contest winner is Gacha Wrecking Ball, turning Overwatch’s iconic hamster into a collector’s toy machine. His mech has colorful capsules inside, and his blasters shoot them out.

Wrecking Ball has very few in-game skins, so this is one players are especially excited about. It’s a cute and playful option for him, matching his silly demeanor.

There are two winning Shion skins here. The first dresses her in a ghostly white cloak, perfect for Halloween season. It is elegant traditional garb, with flowing purple designs.

In the second, Shion is in a bright pink jacket. She has a rocker-style look. It’s also a bit Y2K cyber with the silver accents, fur boots, pink sunnies, and heart gemstones.

Hobbyworld Mizuki

Hobbyworld Mizuki took Juno, Domina, and Junker Queen’s place on the list, landing at third. This Mizuki concept reimagines him as a craft store employee. He has a handy multitool instead of his staff, and a folded newspaper hat. Mizuki also wears headphones and has tons of nerdy pins on his uniform overalls.

Doomfist and D.Va

Tank mains were excited about two matching skins for Doomfist and D.Va. The Doomfist skin adds cute deco stickers to his mechanical arm, while the D.Va skin is in a cutesy gyaru style. However, it’s important to note that this D.Va skin has just received copying allegations from another artist, so Blizzard might opt to remove it from the winners list.

Fast Food Jetpack Cat

If you ever thought one of those pesky Jetpack Cat players needs to get off the game and get a job, today’s your lucky day. This adorable skin equips Jetpack Cat with everything she needs to run a fast-food restaurant. She wears a little red hat and microphone, and carries burgers, sides, and drinks in her hovercraft. Put the fries in the bag!

Ice T really knocked it out of the park with this entry as well. Master Fisher Jetpack Cat lounges about in a straw hat. She carries fishing tools and has a bright blue hovercraft with sharks on it. Jetpack Cat also gets a recolor here, turning into a Siamese kitty.

Domina is known for fashion, but the Vogue Magnate skin takes things to another level. Here, she embraces a more editorial look, with jeweled accents and a bold white headdress.

Ana is classy and polished in a maid outfit. This skin also reimagines her rifle and sleep dart pistol into an old-fashioned Victorian style.

Juno, Domina, and Junker Queen Disqualified for AI Art

Several of the skin concepts, featuring Juno, Domina, and Junker Queen, had extremely obvious AI use. These designs were ‘Animal Maid Cafe’ themed but had some odd proportions and glitches that netizens pointed out. Blizzard has eliminated them from the competition: Hobbyworld Mizuki took their spot.

Stolen D.Va Concept?

Alongside the Juno, Domina, and Junker Queen debacle, one artist spotted something off about the D.va design winner. User @Karulox, a game artist, dev, and cosplayer, realized that the concept was almost an exact copy of a drawing they did a decade ago.

The characters wear the exact same outfit, except Karulox’s art comes from the 2014 MOBA title Smite. They also provided a speedpaint video, proving that the art was their own. Overwatch Cavalry replied, informing they would tell Blizzard about this issue.

How Winners Become Real Skins

The Overwatch skin design process takes time. Here’s what happened in the first skin contest last year:

  1. Fans voted and a jury picked winners. In 2025, the jury held most of the weight.
  2. The Overwatch team reviewed the results and had the final say.
  3. Some winning skins reached the game months later. Ramattra and Wuyang arrived in May 2026.
  4. Other winners, like Kiriko, Juno, and Moira, were still waiting for release news after that.

When Will the New Overwatch Contest Skins Release?

There are no confirmed dates. Reports say the top skins are planned for a later release. Some may reach players worldwide, but others could be regional exclusives.

Expect a wait of several months based on last year. A win also doesn’t guarantee the skin will come to the game: only some of these designs will actually arrive in the Overwatch Shop.

What This Means for Overwatch Players

The contest skins are a major turning point for Overwatch’s overall design. For years, the community asked for more influence on the game’s future. Now, Blizzard appears to be listenng.

Fan input is shaping skins. That is rare for a large hero shooter. It gives less-played heroes a chance to get overdue skin designs, helping even things out for characters like Venture and Lucio. The contest looks like an annual event. Another one could follow in 2027.

Stay tuned for more Overwatch news, and keep an eye on official patch notes for more info if the skins drop globally.
