Legacy are CS Asia Championships 2026 champions. The Brazilian side beat Team Falcons 3-1 in the Shanghai grand final, and they did it the painful way. Falcons edged the opening map, which was actually Legacy’s own Nuke pick, 13-11. From there Legacy flipped it completely, taking Ancient, Mirage and Dust2 to close out the title.

It is a title defense, too. Legacy won this event in October 2025, so they walked in as the team with something to protect rather than the underdog. They played like it once the early wobble passed.

How Legacy got to the final

Legacy did it the hard way. Their playoff run went through NRG, TYLOO and The MongolZ before they ran into a Brazilian derby against MIBR in the semis. That MIBR series should have been closer. MIBR built a 9-3 lead on Legacy’s own Mirage pick and let it slip, eventually losing 16-12 in overtime, and the second map was never really a contest after that.

Eduardo “dumau” Wolkmer drove that semi. He posted a 1.39 rating across the two maps against MIBR and kept winning the opening duels that set the round up for his team. In the final, though, it was Bruno “latto” Rebelatto who took over. He finished the grand final with a 1.52 rating across four maps and walked away with MVP, with dumau (1.11) and n1ssim backing him through the comeback.

Falcons fall short again

For Falcons, this one stings, and it follows a pattern. They reached the final on the back of wins over M80, BC.Game and MOUZ, and they took the opening map. This was supposed to be the breakthrough for the roster that added m0NESY, kyousuke and karrigan, the latter pulled in from FaZe. It came just days after they lost the PGL Astana 2026 grand final to Team Spirit, who swept them.

Instead it is another runner-up finish. The pieces are clearly there. The trophy is not, at least not yet, and NiKo’s grand final struggles are becoming a talking point.

What it means going forward

Two big results landed almost on top of each other this weekend, with PARIVISION taking DreamLeague Season 29 over in Dota 2 at the same time the CS2 grand final was wrapping up. For Counter-Strike specifically, Legacy quietly building back-to-back deep runs while a stacked Falcons keeps falling at the final hurdle is the kind of storyline that carries into the summer. The IEM Cologne Major looms, and a confident Legacy is suddenly a team nobody wants to draw.
