The Diamond Casino is going dark in more markets, not fewer. So will there be a GTA 6 casino when Vice City lands in November?

Rockstar has locked Grand Theft Auto 6 to November 19, 2026, after two delays pushed it out of 2025 and then past a planned May window. With Vice City back on the map and the date finally holding firm, attention has shifted to which parts of GTA Online will survive the move to Leonida.
The Diamond Casino and Resort sits near the top of that list. It landed in July 2019 and became one of the game’s busiest social spaces almost immediately, part gambling floor and part meeting point.
Whether Jason and Lucia get their own version is a trickier question than it looks. Events over the past few weeks have made it trickier still.
The 2019 update shipped with blackjack, three card poker, roulette and slot machines. It also added a horse racing book called Inside Track and a free daily spin on the Lucky Wheel. Buying a penthouse unlocked the high limit tables upstairs.
Chips came from GTA$ at a flat one to one rate. Players could grind that currency in game or buy it outright through Shark Cards. That second route is what drew attention from regulators.
Nothing in the Diamond Casino pays out. Chips convert back into GTA$ and stay locked inside the game. That distinction matters most to authorities. Money that goes in without a route back out counts as entertainment spending, not wagering.
Real money play sits in a different category with its own rulebook. Licensed operators run online casino games under conditions that have no equivalent inside a Rockstar title. Every slot publishes a return to player figure. Independent labs test the random number generators before a title goes live. Each operator holds a license from a national regulator, which can suspend or pull it.
The account layer is the bigger difference. Age and identity checks happen before a first deposit, not at a loading screen. The account itself carries deposit caps, session reminders, time outs and self exclusion, so the player never has to remember them. UK licensed platforms are 18 plus, and BeGambleAware runs free support for anyone who wants it.
That gap explains why the two things sit in such different categories. One is a minigame with no exit door. The other is a financial transaction with consumer protection attached.
The distinction did not satisfy everyone. Within days of launch, players across more than 50 countries found the casino floor open but the tables switched off. An error message sat where the games should have been.
The affected list ran from Argentina and Portugal through to Greece and much of the Middle East. At the time, coverage across gaming tied the restrictions to local rules on paid chance mechanics rather than any single ruling. Rockstar appeared to geo block preemptively rather than argue the point market by market.
In late July, Australian players reported that the casino minigames had stopped working for them too. That came seven years after the update went live. Dataminers turned up region code restrictions sitting in the game files.
Rockstar has not explained the change publicly. Australia introduced an interactive gambling amendment bill in early July, with a January 2027 start date. A platform ratings reclassification landed around the same week. Between them, there is no shortage of plausible triggers.
What matters for the sequel is the direction of travel. Rockstar has spent seven years defending this feature, and it is now going dark in more markets rather than fewer. For a game shipping in November, that is a live problem.
A GTA 6 casino looks likely in some form. Vice City without a resort strip would be an odd piece of world building. And the building itself was never what regulators objected to.
Realistically, expect a venue you can walk through, rob and run missions from. This time Rockstar locks the wagering minigames by region from launch day, rather than patching them out two updates later. Rockstar has the template and seven years of correspondence to work from.
Rockstar has confirmed none of it. The third trailer still has not appeared, and Rockstar has said almost nothing about the online component. So anyone claiming certainty in either direction is guessing. We will keep tracking it across our gaming news coverage as the November date gets closer.
